The three thugs back up. They are grouped together in front of you. One has a shotgun, the another has a compact submachine gun, and the last has a machine pistol built up to act like a SMG. They certainly aren't professional looking. The one with the shotgun has it loosely pointing at your feet.

"C'mon man," he commands.
The three thugs inside are getting restless, and a second one with the compact SMG to his left speaks up, "C'mon fella, we ain't got all night."
Rog gives a sigh of resignation and nods, adjusting his backpack and taking a step towards them to leave the room. He stops mid-step and looks around the thugs to the floor behind them.
"Wait- did any of you see a silver canteen walking in here?"

Rog has about three thugs standing over him.
"Hey buddy, get up. You supposed to be outside," one of them orders.
All three are armed.
Rog stands up and examines the three thugs (where they are relative to him, what exactly theyre carrying, how professional they look, etc).

She nods slightly. "Yeah, Arkhip..." Cualli's voice falters slightly, "...told me."

Cualli glances at the small pouch again. "Not meaning to pry, but how come you couldn't deliver this in person?"
: 'Cause a pilot's got no business being in the area of the ship he works. It's just more convenient if you hand it off to him in the crew quarters.

Jaakko is a bit annoyed.

"I understand. How many people do you think I should bring?"
: Three. Maybe four.

Rog puts his hands behind his head and lies down on the couch, crossing his legs as well.

Cualli looks at it for a moment before accepting it. "Alright. As soon as I see him, I'll give it to him."

She pauses for a moment before adding, "thanks again for not actually letting Virvel stab me. I don't know what made me think egging her on like that was a good idea."
: Yeeah, she's a bit of a hothead. Don't worry about her, she's over it now.

"Good afternoon. The wargame's for helping Kommandant drill his new recruits," Jaakko comments.

He runs his hand through his hair.

"I'm looking for an excuse to hop back in the Fenrir without it being neutered by ESAM but I know this isn't the time," he says in a more subdued voice.
: Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I don't care what you bring. It doesn't matter what simulated opponents they're going up against. Those two need more time in the roosterpit, full stop.

Rog slams the door on the goon one more time before chucking it aside (away from anyone else, as if that had to be said). He yawns dismissively in response to Norum and takes a seat on the couch, closing his eyes.

"I know we have Tukrebs in inventory and I could check and see what the closest brown townog to a Typhoon would be,"
: It doesn't have to be an exact representation of enemy forces, I just need to make sure these two rookies won't get any of us killed.

Cualli looks up at him again. On one hand, she remembers all of Arkhip's past commentary on his squadmate: overwhelmingly negative. But on the other hand, some of that was proved wrong earlier when Frisk took up for her. And right now, Cualli knows that it's in her best interests to try to stay on people's good side.

"Yeah, I can," she says, although her expression is just as miserable as before. "I wasn't planning on eating, anyways. What is it?"
: It's in here.

He hands Cualli a small, drab pouch like what you would see hanging off of a soldier's tactical webbing.
: Don't worry about what's in it, just give it to Senior Airman Lorenzen. He works night shifts in one of the engine rooms but he bunks in the same area you do.

Tippy proceeds to dump creamer into her coffee.

"Until it stops tasting like coffee, never... who are you?"
The nameless crewman just watches the coffee, as if anticipating for it to overflow.
: Someone who likes coffee to be coffee, not sugar water.

Rog lifts the door over his head and slams it down vertically on the thug.

Cualli glances up at Frisk long enough for him to see that she still looks like a mess before dropping her head back down to stare at her plate. "Not great," she tells him quietly. "Thanks for checking, though." She presses her fork flat over the pile of potatoes and watches how they squish around the prongs.
: I understand if this is a bad time, but do you think you could do me a favor? It's nothing big, really, I just need you to take something to someone.

"We wouldn't have to design anything new either. Kintharia already has working platforms. All they'd have to do is license some company to build them. Or at the least you'd think we could take their technical expertise and shoehorn a system into our MiGs or Flankers,"
Jaakko pokes at his food.
"I remember Aesthia was testing AI a while back. I wonder if they've gotten anywhere with that Helian pod we captured,"
He changes the subject.
"Oh- if you'd like, I'm sure my squadron can act as an aggressor if you want to put your new guys through some more combat simulations,"
: I'll check with the Sky Marshal, see if we can run some engagements tomorrow.

Tippy enters the messhall for some coffee rubbing the back of her head. She had an awful headache and was feeling exhausted running training exercises late evening to early morning. She slaps the expresso machine and fills up her mug, dumping a stuff ton of sugar into the boiling beverage.
The next person in line to get coffee watches her assemble her drink.
: Geez, is that sweet enough for you yet?

Rog charges blindly in the direction of the gunfire that impacted against the door until he hits something, keeping the improvised shield between him and danger the entire time.

Once again, Cualli's throat tightens. "Yeah, he... he cared a lot. The thing that hurts the most is that he promised to me that every mission, he'd do whatever he could to come back to me in one piece."

Cualli is sitting with Elu at one of the tables, her head resting on one of her hands as she stares down at her plate of food, poking at a pile of mashed potatoes with a fork in her other hand. Other than the prong marks all over the depression-inspired potato sculpture, her food (and glass of water) are untouched.
Frisk stops by Cualli's table without actually taking a seat.
: How are you holding up?

"Are they rushing people through training or are we getting diminishing returns on the quality of people who are signing up now?" Jaakko asks.
He shakes his head.
: Probably the former. I don't know why we haven't just embraced drones the way the Goths have, surely we have the industrial base to do it.

I'm going to go ahead and move time forward so you're all at the mess hall or something instead of asking questions like this right after a debrief.
"How are your new guys handling things so far? Is it their first deployment or did you get transfers from other squadrons?"
Kommandant frowns and thinks about it for a moment.
: They're as green as they come. Honestly? I have my doubts they would have even made the cut during peacetime.
: 'N one of em's already dead.
: That too, and that pissed me off. I never even had an opportunity to evaluate them for myself, the air force just sent us these raw recruits and put them on a combat mission right away. His death is on the instructor that cleared him to fly, because he clearly had no business being behind the stick in a combat zone.

"I see. So you two have known each other for a while then."
He sighs, unsure of where to take the conversation from there.
"Well, I guess I'll see you guys around, then."
He gives a small wave and heads for his bunk.
: Er, alright then. See you around.

"That was sarcasm, sorry. I realize this is going to be a mess," Jaakko says, "Believe me, I'm pretty pissed that Eremit ran off with our loving Annoying Orange cards."
: No kidding.

"Makes sense."
Markus pauses for a moment.
"So, where are you all from?"
: We're both from Soderhamm, out in Oregund province.
