General Discussion / Re: How do i make military roleplays realistic?
« on: April 18, 2013, 09:16:56 PM »
Make it not 40 people being privates and one person being the general (typically the host)
When I've joined these Military roleplays all I see is one person bossing around a giant group of idiots, telling them to do stupid things like "GO EAT NOW FOLLOW ME OH NO YOU LOOKED AT ME FUNNY BANNED NOW DO THIS STUPIDLY BUILT OBSTICLE COURSE."

Seriously. That's loving bootcamp for the lame.

If you want to make a realistic military roleplay, add things that the Military actually DOES. Create a desert and a town and go in groups with Helicopter drop offs and afghanistan rebels and all of the works. Then have a home base be for some training and resupply. Don't focus on just bossing people around until they rank up. which is another thing. don't hand out ranks to idiots, if you even use ranks.

"oh right, it's just a kid, and it's a game. it would be ridiculous to assume he could be doing anything related to nuclear weapons"
"Damn kids these days.. Lets get him guys."
brb fbi is at my door

Jesus.

companies could probably do this already. it's not like people actually read their privacy policies
you rarely know exactly what you're doing when you click "I agree"
Right. They could have something in big bold letters say "Pressing 'I Agree' will allow us to steal your house and your family." and you'd still press 'I Agree.'

You all have no idea what cispa really does or how it works or why it should be passed
From my general observations it looks like a bill that will allow private companies to share personal information about us. I posted this just so stir aware and discussion.

stuff
that was pretty brutalsorry but that isn't how forums work
I know, but to some people it may seem unnecessary to have a thread identical to another, granted the OP didn't know there was another in which I don't blame him, It's new news and I had troubles finding the thread myself amongst the other threads that's more populated.

"I'm praying to god that the rain stops"
It did, but then it started again...
I can see how this would make it unable to air.
He's putting faith in his religion on the news which can always cause outbreaks, or how he said "I'm praying to god that the rain stops" and it in fact did, which would be "evidence" that God stopped the rain. Then it raining again, would cause people to go "Haha look your god didn't make it stop raining!"
So yeah. religion is a fine line on the news.

There's another thread, it's on the second page so it's not as hot, but I'd probably just advise to lock this thread and keep that one updated.
Kind of like 'First comes first serves' and having more than one thread about one situation gets either bothersome or unorganized.
