I'd purposelly missspell words just to see if someone with OCD would get upset and then gaslight them.

I spent months maybe years doing that.

I've did every type of trolling in the book

and I was damn good at it

My best quality was being persistent and determined and playing the long con

lord tony was just mista white all along!

Off Topic / Re: [GSF]Ghost passed away last year

this feels like a whole lifetime ago, but i'll speak about it now. i was hosting a huge server around the time paradise came out, and ghost came on to check it out. we started talking and then told me to follow him all the way up to the church in the sky. he was humbled that i was hosting the server with *all* of the vehicles and was just happy to see his map put to full use. i'll never forget how nice the guy was.

RIP [GSF]Ghost

magick mage was really something man. I was a part of the AoB clan in which he was a senior member of. (one of the oldest building clans even back in the day)

The leader, General Jake actually responded last time I brought AoB up but i missed his PM :(

i miss all of them

stratton and i keep in tabs a bit!

magick mage was literally a saint. the most friendliest person on this game to be honest. i think he was in iEvent at some point too. i do miss them all :(.

Off Topic / Re: I got the Moderna vaccine, AMA
« on: April 05, 2021, 12:34:14 PM »
I'm really interested in how different people react to different vaccines, or even the same vaccine. The Moderna second dose knocked me out for a day. I'm glad yours went better

and this is the sole reason why i wanted the damn vaccine. my friends and family are like, "why would you if you had the virus already?"

YES I HAD IT. i was confirmed in september of 2020 so that was 8 months ago but yeah.....i had the virus. was it that bad for me? yeah not really THAT bad, i just wanted out of the house. the main symptoms i had were loss of appetite, loss of smell+taste, cough and runny nose, and that was it. i had a low grade fever at most times which was weird but the fever was dramatic as time went on. i was fine, never needed to go to the hospital or anything.

i thought about skipping it entirely but with everyone being so scared to take it i decided to say forget it and do it anyways. plus i had a early bird shot at it compared to most people in my state (IL) (i got in on the healthcare workers / school staff wave) so by the time i get this 2nd dose on wednesday i should be ready for the summer.

my hopeful outcome of wednesday is that i should be good 2 go and not have weirdness like most people do. if it was just like how i had corona, lowgrade fever, some aches, i should be fine to work (i work at home so not a huge deal).

will update soon lol.

Add-Ons / Re: [Hatmod] Daft Punk

that would be cool if you made an extra pair that had a glow to it like the other one had
the outlining glow? honestly I kinda thought that always looked hideous. if I feel like it though I might make a version with the animated LEDs.

i think the original versions of these are still floating around on here, but it looked dope back in 2011. i just wish makanix and i could figure out the animations...

« on: February 10, 2021, 09:31:21 PM »
i had someone do this to me (really easy to revert the hack) and turns out its a dude in russia. his steam profile IS RIGHT ON THE WEBSITE. (look at the steam logo on the bottom left hand corner of the screen.)

i reported the idiot to cloudflare (he spent $20 on a SSL cert to fool people) and the steam profile linked to the site. what a idiot.

Wait, people unironically use linux?

I would laugh in your face if I could

yeah i run arch br0.

i generally dislike windows 10 as a service, so i'll run windows where it belongs: in a window.
jokes aside, yeah i prefer linux over windows, yet i won't judge normal people for using windows because it's the industry norm (hell, i have to support windows for my job.)

the real question is, people unironically run macOS?

log in and post a response to this topic using the compooter

don't forget to take a photo before u hit post

i hit a major snag with that for now. turns out all the links on the forums go to the HTTPS version which won't work for me. however i could try the wap2 version of the forum tomorrow after i grab a RS232 to USB adapter.

after i take a 4-5 hour morning nap (sleep) i will be grabbing that adapter as mentioned to move all of this fun stuff to my raspi w zero. i bought it originally just to do this, i figured this would make it totally connectable anywhere. on the bright side if i need to connect my wifi, i can do so via the terminal applications i have to control the pi. also i really don't want it tethered to my server anymore since it draws way more power than i should.

i'm actually like kinda slapping myself and saying, "why didn't i do this before?!?!?!!??!" but oh well. you live and you learn. when i was getting the serial cable for this, i got a random one off of newegg for like 30 bucks and it works, but i also bought another one because the first cable i mentioned didn't show up until like 2 months later. not kidding.

down the road i am planning to take this to vintage shows and show it off, 2020 kind of ruined that plan (got it late 2019) so it gave me time to get random stuff like new ADB cables, a floppy emu, a SCSI2SD, new batteries (i got two so i can put one in my iMac as well) so at least i know the thing has life in it. the caps are fine (like AMAZING condition) and no real bad things but a new floppy drive.

here's something else i did to make you happy. it's on par with me posting anything to the forums from the mac.

EDIT: i also changed my forum avatar back to the classic one i've used for years.  :cookieMonster:

so earlier this year i was browsing other phones, and i couldn't escape the new SE. a close friend of mine fixed up a X and sold it to me for dirt cheap, and i loved it. i just traded it in with ATT (700-800 off) for the 12 pro. i love it even more. it's so simple and it just works. i've spent years loving around with android that i just had enough and moved on over. it's not bad at all, i kind of felt like a idiot for stuff talking iOS for years.

also m1 macs are crazy good, but i'm not racing to buy one just yet. tbh, my newest mac atm is a iMac G3 bondi blue from 1998.

Can it play Solitaire?

i have a stuff ton of games on it.

simcity, simearth, civ 1, oregon trail, simant, glider, prince of persia, solitaire, and some others.

others being like the zork trilogy haha.

blockland forums on the macintosh se, surprised cloudflare didnt get in the way lol
good stuff

https://github.com/tghw/macproxy

so what this does is basically strips CSS (it will work with it but trust me it's just horrible looking) and proxies this from HTTP 1.0 to 1.1. this also gets around the whole HTTPS thing.

macweb 2.0 is the only browser that really supports proxying, so i'm stuck with it. i do have ncsa mosaic as well but no proxy support :(

ALSO SINCE I EXPLAINED THAT SIDE OF THINGS:

"how'd ya do it without ethernet or dialup???" serial. yes. SERIAL. a whole whopping 950bytes a second.

my ubuntu server has a RS232 port so i am using this for the target machine, which runs a PPP server. iptables is forwarding everything from PPP to the internet.

things you can do other than very slow web browsing: IRC, Bitlbee (basically pidgin for IRC), Terminal, and TelNet.
