Even with a good CPU, the GPU is equivalent to roughly an 8800GT(Don't quote me on that.), so you would need one hell of a CPU to play Crysis on Max.

The problem is that developers want to take the easy way out and use the GPU all the time.

Cryengine 3 already maxes out the PS3's capabilities as is.
