How old is it?
well, when something air tight gets hotter the air inside of it expands, putting pressure on all the weak spots. the air inside the can has probably been pushing and releasing the lid for some time now, making it weaker. it finally gave, popped off, fell off the can and rolled onto the floor. that can also happen when food spoils and gives off gas.I don't see what reason the tin has to get hotter. It's colder inside this house than most other houses, and since it was night it was even colder.
Why do you need that much gun grease? I just have a small bottle and a Rag.It's not mine.
