like I am very self-conscious about being awkward or a try-hard so often times I either don't impress or I blow it.

tbh the way I see it you're just going to have to deal with it.
Starting over isn't the easiest thing but you have the rest of your life to do it so just take it as slow as you want.
Go to the occasional hangouts and talk to people there, if you make friends then cool, if not then you can make some later.
No need to force yourself into pretend friendships.

I don't think you should confront her at all but if you are seriously pushed to the point of having to say something to her do it through a letter. You can block her on facebook and everything and send her a letter with everything you think about how much of a total bitchass she is, letters are good because they take time and you arent rushed into a talking match and you get to get your message across without having to have any contact with her, since there is nothing good going to come out of that.
Also got to make sure it's clear either to not bother responding or that even if she does you aren't going to read it.
End that hoe.

Keep doing what makes you happy and remember not to take everything too seriously.
If you want to stay in your car for hours then do it, find somewhere you can relax, whether it be at home, in the country or on a vacation in another country, go there and spend some time in your own company to clear your thoughts and try to understand yourself better.
