To my knowledge, there is no way to make the item fake hand the same color as the actual hand.
[Model wise]
I think it's possible with scripting, but just thinking about it gives me a head ache.
And about the ms3d hand model.

It's the full ms3d of the blockland player.
Just cut out the things you don't need of course.
EDIT: I just found my blockland player hand in sketchup format.

Ah omg. I don't know where to start.
First of all, I have no clue whether or not you have this as a physics vehicle or bot vehicle.
Either the collision box is off, which is causing it to sink into the floor.
(off as in, offsetting)

I suggest making a simple box vehicle with wheels and getting the 'vehicle' right.
