Games / FPS dropping on dust2 and other maps

On de_dust2 in CSS, my fps drops from 75 to around 20 on de_dust2, around long A.
On de_dust, when entering tunnel from near T spawn looking at the gate thing across from the entrance, I get 12. This never happened before, wtf is going on?
Oh, forgot:
1280x960, all settings high except vsync and HDR, running nVidia 8600 GT.

Yesterday, I found out Troy "T-Bag" Dixon was killed. I was so sad and depressed. Only one thing could have made it worse. Guess what? It happened.
I am an official Jewson of national socialistparent(s). My mom sent my wishlist to relatives for Christmas (Orange Box+L4D). She'll let me get the Orange Box for the T-M rating, but because loving L4D is rated M, I can't loving get it.
Before this, she saw a Left 4 Dead commercial with "RATED M FOR MATURE" right in front of her face and didn't do stuff about it.
If someone needed one more party member to get rid of a bot and I wasn't randomly there and you lost on expert, blame my mother.

Quake Live is a free version of Quake 3 Arena that has adapted Challenge ProMode Arena's physics (CPMA). QLive is supposed to come later this year, and there is a closed beta where people can send invites. The Pure Pwnage forums have a whole topic for requesting invites, and I should be getting mine soon.
There are new maps and a new hud AFAIK.
