Off Topic / Ive made another dummy website
« on: April 30, 2017, 03:38:58 PM »
Yet again for my brown townytics class we were tasked to make a website. This is actually my midterm.
I had to make a standard looking site to promote a fake business thats supposed to support indie game developement, and this is that site.

Its pretty bare, there are no links to external sources, but check it out for me.

Note: This is a dummy website for a fake buisness that I made. Don't take it too seriously.

Again, for brown townytics class I was assigned to make a stuffty website so that I can track the google brown townytics or whatever. Obviously I need people to look at it to get any data off it.
So here, check it out.

Off Topic / I made a Google Doc Game
« on: April 18, 2017, 07:01:13 PM »
Yeah, so for a Game brown townytics class I was told to make a simple multi-choice game in a Google Doc survey. Fun stuff I know. The goal is to track the brown townytics behind what options players chose and all that.

I need players to get that data for my assignment. Here, play my simple game. There are 3 endings. Check it out

*Please hit "submit" at the endings so the data gets saved.

Suggestions & Requests / Another Default Minigame
« on: April 16, 2017, 08:57:18 PM »
I need a stand alone mod that can set a default minigame.

I know that Slayer has this functionality, and I know that there are older mods that can set a Default Minigame.
The older mods no longer work along side newer ones and also cause a lot of console spam.
Slayer has an intrusive update function and a lot of dead weight. I just want a one stop fix to host a default minigame.

Ive been wanting a way to easily put together gamemodes directly off your current server settings, not to really be used as a Gamemode, but as a way to organize builds and their requirements.

A gamemode basically dictates what addons should and shouldn't be on, I figure using this feature to organize builds might be a decent alternative to keeping track of larger projects. I'm sure by now we've all had the pains of loading a build just to see that there are bricks missing because you forgot to enable a few other packs, or when a complex event chain fails because some obscure event was accidentally left off.

What I want to propose is a way to load a server with everything needed for a build or project, and then use some kind of program or tool compile your current server settings (loaded build and addons) into a basic gamemode that encapsulates that build. Basically, instead of needing to keep tabs on what addons a certain build uses, have a gamemode file that logs it for you. It would make build sharing and managing so much easier.

Note: I have limited knowledge as to how gamemode files work, so it's very possible that this idea can't possibly be done. Please let me know whats what. But be nice

Note: Elm's Add-on Presets mod allows for the saving and loading of addon presets, which basically does most of what Ive asked for. Now includes music lists to be saved within presets! Check it out.
Thanks Elm!

Brick Theory - Brick Walls

I will be going over a few nice ways to go about styling a brick wall with non-default bricks
Different brick wall styles can show weathering and damage

Bricks Used
Bevel Bricks
Half Bricks (Updated with Brick Icons)
Glass Bricks
Small Bricks
1x2 Uneven Brick

Standard 1x2 Brick
Here is the standard 1x2 brick wall pattern that most people are by now familiar with.
Tight seams, the wall appear new/unworn.
Not much to note other than that it mimics a brick pattern effectively in a pinch.

Also works with Bevel Bricks
Not a solid as default 1x2 walls, but gives a bit more to look at.
Tip: Because Bevel Bricks do not have hard corners, Bevel Bricked walls will have small gaps.
Using glass bricks to fill the gaps is recommended if this is not a desired effect.

Beveled 1x2 Variant
Adding Bevel Bricks mixed into the Standard 1x2 Brick pattern makes the bricks appear slightly weathered.
It also gives the wall a bit more texture making it more appealing to look at using no more bricks.

Offset 1x2 Variant
Throwing the 1x2 Offset brick into the wall gives the bricks depth as bricks can now pop out and recede as needed.
Mixing with bevel bricks is quite effective in making a weathered brick wall.
Using this style is useful for making dilapidated or unstable looking brick walls.

By placing Bevel Bricks first and then filling in the gaps you can achieve a plaster and brick wall.
This method tends to be a bit costly on brick counts.
I recommend Half Bricks to help fill gaps

Scatter Wall
Using Glass Bricks as a base and spacing out bricks (bevel or normal) is a good way to make a breaking/crumbling wall
I recommend using this style along side another style as a stand alone wall in this style would not stand (literally)

Can also be effective when paired with Small Bricks
Emulates a heavily weathered plaster and brick wall

Using these methods have yielded decent results for me in the past.

I hope somebody can use this.
Any good tips or tricks posted here will be added to the OP

Add-Ons / Hat Pack 4
« on: February 25, 2016, 07:48:45 PM »

A pack of 20 hats that I actually got around to releasing. Sorry for the wait.

NOTE: Also includes 3 extra hats not listed. Ill let you guys do the digging for those.
NOTE: This pack uses JakeBlade and Boodals Hatmod addon to work. You need it for this pack to work proper: make sure you have it
NOTE: Be wary of having the "hat item" option on as this many hats at once may break your datablock limit. You can find the setting in the server settings menu.
(If you even have such a thing...)

Here is a link to the older Hatmod topic with all the older hats.

If you find any bugs or something, let me know and Ill at-least try to fix it. I'm going back to bed...

Modification Help / [WIP] - Hat Pack 4

Requesting Ideas
Give me ideas for more hats. I reserve the right to decline any and all hats I deem unfit for this pack.
I'm looking for simple yet versatile hat ideas, ones that can be used in more than one instance.
I am NOT looking for hat ideas from random stuff.

If you arent sure about a suggestion, you can cross check with the complete list of hats that Ive made.
Find the list here.

I swear to god, if I get the masks from Payday as a request again I think I'm gonna kill somebody...

Off Topic / Bogus Skype Contacts

Oh boy oh boy, do I love bogus Skype contacts.

This one guy by the name "Fredrick Owusu" says he trusts me with $4,750,000 and all he needs is my bank account so he can give me 40%. What a deal, am I right? Who the forget thinks a guy calling himself Mr.No▀ody is a "reliable, honest, and trustworthy person"?

Look at this fake stuff.

I almost want to call that number to see who picks up.
