General Discussion / Server-Problem Add-Ons
« on: May 04, 2009, 08:04:00 PM »
This is, in essence, a place where people can post on EVERY single add-on that causes a problem with either Blockland in itself or another Add-On. (Ex. Zombiemod messes up TDM mod)

For me:
Flamethrower: Caused my server to crash when I tried to open it.
Sixshooter: Turned off all weapons damage in minigames.

Suggestions & Requests / Player-Affecting Gravity Gun
« on: May 01, 2009, 06:19:02 PM »
This is essentially a Gravity Gun that affects players. HL2 players, don't you remember that chamber in the citadel, where you lost every gun you had except the Gravity Gun? It cot supercharged and could kill people. This would essentially be THAT. It would have a longer-ranged gravity Pull, could kill players in Minigames with th Gravity Push and Gravity Pull, and could NOT kill them outside minigames. It would also have a different "beam" color.

Off Topic / Favorite Flash Animation.
« on: May 01, 2009, 04:52:13 PM »
When I'm bored, I sometimes go to youtube or NewGrounds and watch a flash animation, when I don't play a flash game. My favorites are:
The H.T.F. series by MondoMedia, following a group of cute animal characters used in a sick way... Gorefest
And the "Bunnykill" series by a group of Finnish guys, following the gore-smeared life of a bunny assassin named "Snowball"

A sample of H.T.F. (Wait 'till sec 36 before a good laugh >:3) Oh, and don't watch this if you can't handle it... gore.

A sample of BunnyKill. Comes in two parts. Watch out for more gore.

Feel free to talk about how you felt about those animations.
Enough of that, what's YOUR favorite?

Games / Favorite Flash Game
« on: April 30, 2009, 08:50:42 PM »
Sure, we all love the big ones, the great giants of gaming, like HL2 and Call of Duty, but when I'm bored,  REALLY, REALLY, bored I play a flash game. The question is: What's your favorite flash game(s)?

For myself, my favorite flash games are from the famous Thing-Thing series. To be precise, Thing Thing Arena 3, and Thing Thing 4.

So what's yours?

Help / Locked Projectile Malfunction
« on: April 27, 2009, 05:56:08 AM »
IMPORTANT NOTE: I use a Mac, so keep that in mind when responding.

So I download the locked projectile pack in V11. I test it out on my server, it doesn't work. All that happens is an annoying gun sound or nothing at all.
So can anyone tell me if it's just my Mac, or are there interfering add-ons? Although this was mentioned in an earlier topic of mine, I'm still not quite sure.

Suggestions & Requests / Crane Vehicle
« on: April 25, 2009, 07:07:32 PM »
I'm not sure if this is possible, so it's a suggestion.

For the people who played Half-Life 2, I'm sure you'll be familiar with a massive crane you use in the level "Highway 17". In essence, this vehicle would be that crane. It would not be capable of driving, but moving it's magnet and turntable. It would be capable of picking up stuff that is classed as a "vehicle". It would also have to have the near-indestructibility of the Bench vehicle due to it's size. It would also (obviously) have only one mountpoint. If it couldn't be made with a full-fledged set of legs, it could have only an upper-part and no legs. It would also have to be incapable of being pushed or picked up by Spaceguy's Gravity Gun (weight).
If this is impossible, tell me and I'll lock the topic.

Suggestions & Requests / Flashlight mod
« on: April 25, 2009, 09:40:26 AM »
This topic's title says it all, but I'll elaborate anyway.

In essence, this mod would be like a normal light, but it would be modified so that the light would come out as a "beam", or the light's radius would simply be projected forward. If the miscellaneous lights can make a
spotlight light, then can a "flashlight" be created for players?

Suggestions & Requests / Setvehicle Event
« on: April 24, 2009, 07:52:53 PM »
This could be rather interesting. It could be practical for vehicle "upgrades"or changes on one vehicle spawn.
It could be useful for a turret vehicle idea, it would be "upgradeable.

So in short, you'd have an event that allows you to change the vehicle set to a spawn point.
So whaddya think?

Help / Sixshooter and Flamethrower not good on Macs?
« on: April 24, 2009, 06:19:58 PM »
This happened a while ago, but I'll say it anyways.

So I dl'ed Bushido'd Flamethrower and I enabled it. After that, I tried to start a game. BL crashed. After some tries, I deleted it, and BL worked again. Something similar happened with the Sixshooter. When I used it, Blockland didn't crash, but ALL gun damage on players was completely turned off, and gun damage was on. Yes, weapon damage was on, and it didn't work. Are there any interfering add-ons? Or do they just not work for Macs?

Suggestions & Requests / Stickybomb Launcher
« on: April 23, 2009, 05:53:33 AM »
In essence, this would be exactly what it's called in the title. It would be a stickybomb launcher.

The bombs would be like proximity mines, they would explode on contact with a player. They could be detonated all at once with a binded key and might be capable of sticking to vehicles.

I posted this because Blockland's closest thing to a stickybomb was JD's Explosive Kunai. Other than that, Blockland never really had a stickybomb launcher. I just thought this might be useful to some.

Suggestions & Requests / Could we have a Sentry Gun?
« on: April 21, 2009, 06:59:57 PM »
NOTE: I know I could just use locked projectiles, but they don't work on my computer (mac).

My idea was this: A vehicle type of turret that would automatically shoot at players in a certain radius. It could be carried via the Gravity Gun and repaired via the Pipe Wrench. It would have to be compatible with the TDM mod (Spaceguy).

I know I could just use events, but like I said before, locked projectiles don't work on my computer. Plus, wouldn't it be cooler to have a turret that could actually be CARRIED? And, it could be repaired like a vehicle.

This is a suggestion, and it MAY be possible, from what I've read on the forums.

EDIT: This is kind of a TF2/HL2 style turret.
EDIT 2: The recent release of the Timebomb proves that this COULD be made as a carriable, non-mountable "vehicle" that can be put down, but it would have to be a bot in order to work.  Also, it has been proven that the "Locked Projectile" add-on does not work with V11. If you don't believe this, search for "Locked Projectile Malfunction"in the Help section, or the BL forum search.
