The Overseer put the gas in to create a form of super-soldier that could be controlled via voice commands. Another hallucination is if you go into the science labs and look through the window to the left, everything is upside down until you walk past the window.

More or less.
All I can recall him doing is increasing our time before we starve by fishing, and being a richard and cutting tons of trees after I told him not to.

also, if I take 5 plant fibers (values 46, 43, and 41, as well as values 37, and 39) and make a sling, what would the quality of said sling be?

Slings take 10 string, the quality is an average of all the Q's, I believe.

Meh, it may be more funny than humiliating, but my nemesis sniper shot me (I was a sniper too) and the action cam shot showed him getting shot in the face by an arrow and flying backwards, arms extended.
