Off Topic / Agricultural Science or Foreign Languages?
« on: October 12, 2011, 07:43:04 PM »
I am currently eligible to enter two magnet schools next year. One school, which isn't too far from where I live, is an agricultural/life science oriented school, which operates a farm worked by the students (with cows, corn, pigs, and other stuff), and has more of a hands on perspective to learn, and as a geneticist or a microbiologist are my choices of my ideal careers, this is a field I would like to study. Another school, which is a half hour's train ride away, is a more language oriented school, where you study either Chinese, Arabic, or Japanese, and then you go to a country that speaks your chosen language for two weeks. You also learn more about world history and world literature. This school would help me more for finance/corporate work abroad. I can't really make a decision on which school to go to. What should I base my ultimate decision on, my personal interests or a more hands on learning environment, where both choices could help me land jobs I want?

Alright guys, today we have a very special drama about edman2299k. Things used to be cool between us, but today, I was talking with him on steam and the chat was something like this:

[WDZ] BillNyeTheScienceGuy: Edman, I'm going to court, any advice?
Edman: Dude, I'm
Edman: done with
Edman: You're storys
Edman: Blocked

So, I've talked to edman twice in the past week, once to explain something he was getting mixed up with another thing, and the above chat. Because of this, he blocks me and has his friend message me for the purpose of calling me a friend.

Now, he decides to take this whole argument to the forums. I've had my skype profile for a long time under various names, and I decided to make one for forum usage, and the avatar is a picture of me from FOUR years ago. He makes this post:
No, the part where you are 6'3 and strong.
http://imgur.com/ZK92R
Hmm, you look rather stronge in this picture wouldn't you say Brad Lint?

He comes into my topic to try to derail it, because of his opinion of me. Dude, seriously, you can keep your opinions to yourself. Posting my name isn't going to help you instigate a fight, Edward. You are only making yourself look like a moron, and I advise you to stop now.

For more proof that edman is acting like an imbecile, please be my guest and see his recent posts http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?action=profile;u=16091;sa=showPosts.

Edman, I advise you to stop for your own good, because blocking me on steam and skype and bringing your rage to the forums isn't helping you gain anything. Your posts give the impression that your handicapped, and I'm sorry that I ever was nice to you in the first place.

Off Topic / People Give Me So Much Bullstuff
« on: October 09, 2011, 06:41:30 PM »
Alright, here we go. Recently a lot of people have been giving me so much bullstuff. In no sort of chronological order, here we go with some examples. The first example is (and I've never told anyone IRL this simple fact) that this friend texts me like "dud ur gret grandpa is evel he Josef Mengele". I ask said friend how he found that out and he answers with one word, "google". I ask him why the forget he googles me in his spare time, and he says "Y DID UR MOM GOOGLE YOU IN HER SPARE TIME LOL". Here he goes, giving me bullstuff because of my genetic history and using the incredibly annoying "your mom" joke.

Another example of people giving me bullstuff is some cigarettes steal my bike, and I find it badly hidden in the woods near school. I take it back home during my free period, when teachers let you leave school to eat lunch, and I can ride a bike to my house and walk back easily within the 45 minutes of the free period. As I go to walk back home, the bike stealing wigger gang comes up to me and the boss wigger asks me "dude y u steal your bike back". I answer by punching him in the face and leaving, due to him being a loving starfish. He knows where my house is, and he comes to try to steal it back. He walks into my yard and I pull my Mosin on him, giving him the clear verbal command to leave the property.

He answers "heyl naw not until i gets the bike bak". I ask him a total of three times to leave, and he says no every time. He was wearing his hat with the brim standing straight up, and I'm pissed and shoot through the brim of his Yankees cap. He yells that I missed, and I'm now holding a bayonet maybe three feet from his chest, asking him again very clearly to leave. He refuses again, and he punches me in the face. I club him with the end of the gun and when he falls down, I put a foot on his chest and I hold the tip of the bayonet on his neck until he says he will leave. He pushed me to the extent of being that pissed off, and he runs home and calls the police. The police show up at my house, I show them the gun, let the officer unload it and run the serial, and when all comes up clean and legal, the police leave.

The next day at school, people give me bullstuff because of what was between the friend wigger and I, and everyone is so afraid of me and they're all calling me impulsively violent. Every few seconds now, I'm getting a text calling me impulsive, or a sociopath, or some other insult because of something I did IN SELF DEFENSE.

How do I heal my reputation? I mean, I might look intimidating or whatever, being 6' 3" and fairly strong, but that doesn't mean I will beat the stuff out of everyone, the only reason that wigger got his ass handed to him was because he decided to forget with me and he pushed the issue too far.

tl;dr friend comes to my house to steal things, I pull a gun on him, and he is a loving crybaby.

Off Topic / Alright, loving Reports Damn You
« on: October 04, 2011, 10:24:57 PM »
Damn social studies. I have to write a report on Auschwitz, specifically the Medical experimentation. It turns out that I am a blood relative of Josef Mengele, AKA the guy who sewed babies together to see what would happen. Now that this is kinda a sensitive subject, what would be the best way of talking about what Great Grampy Mengele did without being biased because he is my direct relative, or being insensitive to the fact that he did forgeted up things to people? I'm confused as stuff, plz help.

Off Topic / Jesus, My Family has a History of Badassery
« on: October 04, 2011, 09:22:29 PM »
Alright, I was doing a family history project for Social Studies to find out if I was related to anyone significant in history, and I interviewed a few of my family members about the subject, and they themselves also had some interesting stories.

One of my relatives was a decorated sharpshooter in the Civil war for the Confederates

My great grandfather was a gold miner at Cripple creek and found an assload of gold and became rich, and carried six revolvers with him to look badass

My great great I don't know how many greats grandfather was at Jamestown and lived through the first winter when most of the settlement died, successfully repelling attacks on the fort many a time and getting shot in the loving eye with an arrow and living

My mom's father's father was on the Titanic and lived despite being in the stuffty position of no lifeboats, he loving swam to an open lifeboat that had capsized and got in, despite below freezing water

My Grandfather was in the Korean war and drove a loving tank in addition to being a medic

and lastly, my Uncle was reluctant to tell me this, but he was actually imprisoned with John McCain in the Hỏa Lò Prison in Vietnam for three years, surviving very brutal torture that I'd rather not write about. He was there because he was shot down, ejected, and landed right into a group of Viet Cong soldiers, who took him prisoner. He's fine now, but doesn't like talking about his stay in the Hanoi Hilton.

Some amount of greats grandfather was a loving knight who owned a lot of damn land and had a castle of his own.

There's some more stuff that I forgot, but I never knew my family had such a badass history. Discuss.

Games / Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
« on: September 29, 2011, 11:38:53 PM »
I honestly think Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is one of the most underrated games I've ever played.

The story of this game isn't very 'realistic' in the fact you have millions and millions of dollars from doing petty missions and you blow up a loving oil rig, but that is quite easy to look past.

The main turn off for most people are the bugs in this game. I honestly have run into a few bugs in the years I've been playing Mercenaries 2, but none of them are game breaking and all of them are truly hilarious, like ragdolls flying high into the sky.

In case you didn't know, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is a sandbox game released in 2008 by Electronic Arts. You can play the role of three mercenaries, the most iconic of which being Mattias Nillson, a crazy ass Swede. You can do missions for various factions if you want, or you can just steal/blow up everything that exists in 64 square kilometers of land. You can use many weapons, from a handgun to a loving nuke, and you can drive any vehicle you see, many of which are armed with various weapons. This game has battlefield-like destruction that doesn't go away unless you turn off your console.

Sure, the game might look dated, but it was released three loving years ago. I think it's great fun to take a helicopter and blow up entire cities with rockets and nukes. Discuss this awesome game if you've ever played it.

Off Topic / Mounting Weapons
« on: September 29, 2011, 05:58:08 PM »
Alright, so my uncle just got an addition onto his house, and he wants one room to be converted into an 'armory' of sorts, where he can keep all of his weapons mounted. He has a stuffload of stuff to mount on the walls, so I was wondering how to go about this. What would be the most space efficient way to mount long guns, handguns, and various blades on some walls?

Off Topic / Teaching Youth Group is fun! (Screw you Hiro)
« on: September 26, 2011, 12:13:41 AM »
So recently, my mother has been telling me to go get a job, do something, etc, so I volunteered to teach Youth Group at a nearby church to appease the angry volcano gods who will evidently destroy me and end the world if I don't get a job. My first day teaching was today, and let me tell you, it was fun as forget. I got there ten minutes before all of the kids were to arrive and I met my "boss". She was nice, and gave me an overview of what I was to teach these kids. Then the kids arrive and come inside the barn where youth group is. They're all around sixth grade, and they're looking at me like "who the forget is that". I introduce myself and I start teaching, and then my boss taps me on the shoulder and says, "you've done enough teaching, now it is time to play games". This happens ten minutes in to the two hour class.

Game time essentially means going into the preschool building, blasting Green Day loud as anything over the intercom, and playing hide and seek in this big as forget building. I have Basket Case blaring, and I hid in a spot nobody could ever find and played games on my phone, and for that I get $20. All of the kids said I was the best teacher ever :D

tl;dr When I teach Youth Group at church we listen to Green Day and play games instead of "learning"

Oh bitch, it's that time of week again. Another music thread, this time about the amazing genre called Rock. It's sad that many people have abandoned Rock for Rap, Dubstep, or some other 99% digital genre. Poast some Rock music here, keep Rock alive. (inb4noopinionsallowed)

My favorite songs, which are also a bit nostalgic are
Lobotomy for Dummies by Zebrahead
and
Memory by Sugarcult

ITT: Post some of your favorite rock songs

Off Topic / When you get pissed off, do you talk in a different way?
« on: September 13, 2011, 07:07:23 PM »
Just wondering if this happened to anyone else. If I get really pissed, I will abandon all traces of my Northeastern accent and adopt a southern one, and talk really fast. I did not realize this happened until today. I'm from San Antonio, but I live in Connecticut and I talk without the southern accent. Does anybody else speak in a different way when they're pissed off?
