Unfortunately, as I turned 16 today, I wasn't able to get my license today. After waiting for a couple hours in the DMV after we got all the paperwork and insurance and stuff out of the way as we went outside to begin the driving test(i didn't have this one sheet that you get for going to a normal public school driver's ed) we realized my dad's truck didn't have it's front plate on so we couldn't take that. As we were going to leave we thought about driving over to our business and getting my brother's car and just use that. Then I remembered it didn't have a horn, so that was out of the question. Now we have to go either Tuesday, when it's super busy, or Wednesday. So I am sad. I texted one of my friends who turned 16 four days ago who also couldn't get his because he was sick and he was happy because I couldn't brag about my height and getting my license first :C

But oh well, I can't wait until tues/wed to get my driver's license.

So I don't have much for this megathread and I don't recall seeing one about salem so here it is!

I got my beta invitation today, if you got 3 people or got chosen for the beta you should have your invite in your mailbox!


-What is Salem?-
Set in a fantastical New England, Salem offers free form Massively Multiplayer gameplay in a persistent, ever-changing, online world. Players take the roles of intrepid colonists from the Old World seeking to make lives for themselves in the New. The colonists are able to use a unique crafting, farming and building system inspired by 17th century alchemy.

Although Salem takes place in a light-hearted gothic setting with a charming and cute art-style, there is also open Player-versus-Player combat and permanent death. Players will also experience creatures based off actual colonist folklore like Squonks, Hidebehinds and of course witches in an open sand box world.

So, on crowns jail rp(hurr jail rp there's your problem) someone asked why the guards kept shooting the prisoners for having a deflector, which they spawn with.

Cue:

He also went on about how he "won the fight, because he ignored it" and "someone who keeps going with the fight is a true idiot". Remember everyone, when you "win" a fight be sure to mute a person when you can't defend yourself, that is the way to show your dominance over them!

Also: The deflector does 0 damage when shot at people, but apparently since it can deflect bullets(which only a SMALL amount of guns actually use bullets and not raycasts) it is a weapon and you should kill on sight for having one.

this is a very good game, I've put hundreds of hours into the xbox360 version and recently bought it for computer for the DLC

right now all the DLC is being posted on computer so I'll post some pros and cons of console/computer

Games / Mass Effect 2 awc.dll load failed.

Recently I bought mass effect 2 on orgin(don't ask why), so I waited for it to download then install(like 12 hours), only to get the god damn "awc.dll load failed" message, I've spent the last hour searching support forums for an answer that actually works, and I can't seem to find any customer support from bioware or orgin. In most answers was something like running EAAccessInstaller.exe or whatever, I don't have that nor can I figure out how/where to get it. there are no paths in my EA_Core_App.ini file, so I can't edit any paths. Like I said customer support is nonexistant so I need help. I'll probably be going to sleep soon but I'll check on this thread tomorrow.

Suggestions & Requests / Automatic Minigame Restart

Yes, I would like an addon that has a set time that just resets the minigame every X amount of minutes(hours?), simply restarts, then begins the countdown again.

Perhaps RTB prefs, if possible for: how long until it announces how long is left
if it should repeat itself or just time it once
how long until it restarts if you want to use just rtb
enable/disable

/cmds would be fine but rtb prefs are fancy

aaaaaaaaaaaagh, here's the (small) story, the past few days I had my cousin over, as he does a lot, and we were playing the left 4 dead 2 demo together. I look at the xbox live store and see it's $29.99/however many microsoft points that is, I don't have any points at the time so I can't get it. Today, I pick up some microsoft points from gamestop, look in games on demand and boom, l4d2 isn't there anymore. Can't buy it, nothing. I'm seriously confused as to how it could be gone when it was RIGHT THERE yesterday. The buy button is gone.

so then i bought bf:bc2 and still have $30 worth of points left :I

I'm looking at a graphics card on newegg(shocker there? I've had like 4 gpu topics lol), and I found this one and it looks good to me, so I'm asking for everyone's opinions.

current specs are:
AMD Athlon II x4 635 - Quad core 2.9ghz
~6gb of ram
430w Thermaltake PSU (May upgrade if needed)
nVidia GeForce 8400GS - 512mb vram(?)
and that's the important stuff I believe

I don't expect to play every game on max settings but I want more than what my current card can give me. also the free game sweetens what appears to be a good deal to me. Also I would say that $175 is my limit for cards, seeing as i need to buy a new mouse, headset w/ mic, and maybe keyboard.
