I like the hat stand idea as well as the fishing gear. They might go in.

We already put a telescope, it was the first item built up there, actually! :)
Old picture frames, chests, lanterns, maybe some unrecognizable form underneath a tarp?
Picture frames are rather harder to build, and we have a few in the house itself. The lanterns are a neat idea for some reason.

Sacks might work.
The attic is a used space, meaning that the "owner" will be able to go up into it. The space of this attic is bigger than most of the houses in the gallery section. The attic has a spot for star-gazing, so if your attic space was being used as a novelty area, what would you put into it?

I'm discussing a build. I'm not even suggesting anything in the slightest.
Anyway, I see a bunch of repeat furniture with white sheet suggestions. ...and boxes.
The pipe idea might be semi-neat. Not sure if older mansions have exposed piping in the attic, but it's worth a try. The build will be posted soonish, as it's almost done.
It'll come with a custom game mode. (Maybe... if it works out.)

there's a lot wrong with this, particularly how much force he gets jumping off the wall when he slows down way too much before reaching it. i've fine-tuned the mistakes such as his legs going through the wall/floor, and had a little muscle-like effect when he pulls his leg up towards him as he hits the floor.
this was mainly just a chance for me to mess with backgrounds.
edit: made him holding onto that 2d pole a little nicer, as well as removed three frames so he would jump a little faster on and off the wall. it didn't really help.
It's nice quality.
