Maps / DG_Box + Green_Cherries
« on: February 10, 2012, 08:50:06 PM »
Two maps I never planned on releasing, but, what the hell.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nklu5jjpwhbqb5b - DG_Box
http://www.mediafire.com/?2oc9sosxnbogirf - Green_Cherries

I'm not trying to sell you on the idea of downloading them, so I'm not going to go to the effort of taking and uploading pictures.

If you want go through the grueling process of taking pictures, uploading them, and submitting them here, do that.

Maps / The Grid
« on: February 06, 2012, 12:33:32 AM »
I made a map, forums people chose the name.  As seen here: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=184244.0

Here is a picture:

I do not suggest using vehicles on this map, as there is no room to drive.

Known Issues:
You will sometimes spawn under the map.  - Will fix it soon*
Water block on the outside doesn't look pretty. - Will fix at some point**

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?0ab5flxuca8nkek

*tomorrow... maybe.
**same as above, unless it's hard, then never.

General Discussion / What should I name this map?
« on: February 05, 2012, 01:36:43 PM »
I made a map, but I'm having trouble naming it.

Here's a picture.

The best I could come up with is "Boxed City".  And that's not really gonna work.

EDIT: Added a poll.  Chooooose.

Off Topic / The rest of this car isnt so doing well either...
« on: January 25, 2012, 11:45:25 PM »
So I was playing Saints Row the Third and..

9:02 PM - Dglider: I needed to get to the airport, and the GPS had a long route in store for me.  So I looked down and was like, oh hell, isnt that the airport right there? under this freeway?
9:02 PM - Dglider: Anyhow... my tires are busted
9:02 PM - Narco: Lol

Also this...

9:04 PM - Dglider: The only thing that really bothers me about these cars is that if you go into reverse, and get out... the door smacks you and knocks you down...

And finally this...

9:37 PM - Dglider: Favorite thing about this game: How far you fly when you hit something on a motorcycle
9:37 PM - Narco: Lol
9:37 PM - Dglider: Least Favorite thing:  Frequency with which I hit things on a motorcycle

I <3 Saints Row.

Modification Help / JVS Content Edit
« on: August 24, 2011, 01:16:31 AM »
Hey there! I edited JVS Content so that the oncontentblocked event always reads as no.  Enabling you to open doors straight into a solid wall! :D

You can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?iros6n3zg553lc0
Please note this is JVS Content - Version 8

If you're worried about viruses or hacking you can do it yourself!
Just change line 1853 to:
Code: [Select]
						%blockage = 0;
And change line 1836 to:
Code: [Select]
						%blockage = 0;

I post this in the Modification Discussion section because it's not really an addon on its own.

Off Topic / Bobby Pin Key
« on: April 28, 2011, 01:46:16 AM »
Ho hum another boring afternoon.  I was sitting in "the kitchen" thinking about how bored I was when it occurred to me to try lockpicking!

So I looked it up, figured out how It worked, and utterly failed.  Not only did not not have access to a proper torsion wrench, but I lacked any nice, old, doorknobs to pick.  I attempted to pick the pantry door lock but, alas I had no idea what I was doing.

Thus I figured I might as well try picking a door that I had a key to.  That way I could atleast figure out where I needed the pins to be for the door to open.  This didn't work either.

Anyhow it occurred to me to bend a bobby pin into the shape of my key.  And try to use that.   Aaand It worked!  I had a little trouble with getting the bent bobby pin into the keyhole, so I used a straightened out paperclip to push all of the tumblers up.  Then I simply had to insert the bobby pin and I was in business!  Or so I thought.  It turns out the keyhole went alot farther back then I had presumed.  So I had to mark how long the actual key was so I didn't "get lost" in the keyhole.  Used a flathead screwdriver to turn the knob thingy.

So yeah.  Moral of the story-  picking locks is harder than it looks.  Especially if you have no idea what you're doing. ;)  But its still fun!  That feeling you get when you finally get the door open... it's just amazing.  I think I may have to buy some real lockpicking tools.  Maybe a guidebook.

 Please note possessing lockpicks is illegal in some states.

Modification Help / Is it a JVS Door?
« on: March 29, 2011, 06:20:33 PM »
What can I use to tell if an object is one of the JVS Content variety.

I'vs tried getclass but that just tells me it's a fxDTSBrick.
I also tried getdatablock but I don't know how to get it to tell me what the datablock IS.

Any advice?

Modification Help / Lockpick
« on: March 23, 2011, 12:45:44 AM »
Ok.  I've noticed that the LockPick from Iban's CityRPG no longer works due to the switchover to the new JVS-Content System.

Regardless of my motives, I want to get it working again.

I've tried changing some words here and there, but I can hardly be called a scripting expert, so I have no idea what I'm doing.

Anyway, heres the part that needs fixing.

Code: [Select]
function CityRPGPicklockImage::onHitObject(%this, %obj, %slot, %col, %pos, %normal)
{
if(%col.getType() & $TypeMasks::FxBrickObjectType)
{
%client = %obj.client;
%brickData = %col.getDatablock();
if(isObject(%col.door) && %col.door.closed)
{
if(getRandom(0, 3) > 2)
{
for(%i = 0; %col.eventInput[%i] !$= "" && !%doorPath; %i++)
{
if(%col.eventOutput[%i] $= "doorOpen")
%doorPath = %col.eventOutputParameter[%i, 2];
}

switch(%doorPath)
{
case 0: %doorResult = %col.doorOpenCW();
case 1: %doorResult = %col.doorOpenCCW();
default: %doorResult = %col.doorOpen();
}

%col.schedule(3000, "doorClose");

if(%doorResult == 1)
{
%col.schedule(3000, "doorClose");

commandToClient(%client, 'centerPrint', "\c6You have commited a crime. [\c3Breaking and Entering\c6]", 3);
CityRPG_AddDemerits(%client.bl_id, $CityRPG::demerits::breakingAndEntering);
}
else
{
commandToClient(%client, 'centerPrint', "\c6You have commited a crime. [\c3Attempted Breaking and Entering\c6]", 3);
CityRPG_AddDemerits(%client.bl_id, $CityRPG::demerits::attemptedBnE);
}
}
else
commandToClient(%client, 'centerPrint', "\c6Picklocking attempt failed", 1);
}
}
else if(%col.getType() & $TypeMasks::VehicleObjectType)
{
if(%col.locked)
{
%col.locked = false;
CityRPG_AddDemerits(%obj.client.bl_id, $CityRPG::demerits::grandTheftAuto);
commandToClient(%obj.client, 'centerPrint', "\c6You have committed a crime. [\c3Grand Theft Auto\c6]", 5);
}
}

parent::onHitObject(%this, %obj, %slot, %col, %pos, %normal);
}

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT:  Issue has been resolved.  You can find the fixed file below.

General Discussion / Some weird test thingy...
« on: November 20, 2010, 03:07:17 AM »
I just made a test so you can enjoy the pleasure of school at home. :D

Actually its just a little thing I put together to see If I would want you as an Admin.  It has a question that asks if you want me to post what you answered here in this topic.  So maybe just maybe you could use it to prove to some weird-ass host you're dependable.

Its also a convienient way to get people to stop asking, "Can I have Admin?" without hurting their poor little feelers.

Anyway, have fun telling me how handicapped my test is! :D

Ill post the pics of you people's answers in a couple days

Gallery / Grey-Scale Building... Of Doom
« on: July 12, 2010, 02:23:42 PM »
Its just a little something Me, Glaedr, and Tommy threw together in a few hours.

History
It started as a simple obsticle course, jump, climb, jump, climb, fall, die, repeat.
Then we added a hanggliding part, jump, glide, get shot by bots with rocket-propelled-chainsaw launchers, die.
And if you actually glided to the correct spot, you would be teleported to the VICTORY room. aka Grey-Scale Building... Of Doom.

I wanted it to be something simple, yknow, the kind of thing you would see in your basic freebuild but noooo, Glaedr just HAD to start it with some epic walls.  From there we just sorta went on.

Time Taken - 2-3 Hours
Brickcount - 3334 bricks
Cusswords spoken in the making - 7

So yeah, comments, ratings, abusive criticism, you know the drill.
Although really, no arguing in the comments, it really just, so pointless.
