Suggestions & Requests / Re: 1 brick buildings
« on: May 15, 2013, 06:17:14 PM »
im tired of people coming and making boxy, spammy houses surrounding my lovey homes!

can somebody develop a "house brick" that has a door, furniture and stuff? im sick of crappy houses everywhere...

If you can make a house and pm a save of it to me, i could probably turn it into a house brick in me spare time.  (Won't have textures, I'm way to lazy to manually put all of those in)

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Coustom bricks
« on: May 15, 2013, 06:08:43 PM »
I made a brickmaking tutorial for usage with blender.

The method used there is quite limited as you can only use boxes for collision.  So, no slanted collision of any type.
Still good for looks though. ^.^

I've since found a way to export more detailed collision shapes as well.  But that's not in the tutorial so it is... null.

EDIT:  You already found it.  Derp.

I wish I could help.  I really do.  But I haven't scripted a weapon yet, or even tried to animate one.

If you want to pm me one of those models I could try to learn how off of it, but that's about all I can offer.

btw Those models look awesome.  If this does get completed I hope it turns out well.

Modification Help / Re: My brick Lamp not show up in game
« on: May 10, 2013, 11:30:49 PM »
server.cs
Code: [Select]
datablock fxDTSBrickData(Brick_LampData)
{
brickFile = "./Brick_Lamp.blb";
category = "Testing";
subCategory = "1";
uiName = "Lamp";
iconName = "";
//collisionShapeName = "./Brick_Lamp.dts";
};

In blender you have to move the brick above the XY plane before exporting for it to show up ingame.

You could try:
Checking the .blb for bad stuff.(one of my bricks was automajically sized at 5 5 0, problems occured)
Checking your console log for errors while loading the brick.
Or posting the entire thing here for someone else to figure out.

Also you could try changing

datablock fxDTSBrickData(Brick_LampData)

into

datablock fxDTSBrickData(brickLampBrickData)

If not to fix it, just to fit with a standard format.

Download it here: http://blockland.us/files/blbConverter.rar.
Added a link to its forum topic.

Edit: Why does it say, "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher?"
Well, I'm not sure why it would say that.  If you're using Windows XP, the file you downloaded might be a 64-bit program(Windows Vista and up).

The only suggestions I can give are to redownload the program, though I don't think this is the case some websites change the file downloaded depending on what type of browser you're using[64-bit or 32-bit], or find a friend who has a 64-bit operating system and run it on that.

Ooh. I like it.

I'm not gonna switch over to it from Blockland Aero or anything, but it still looks pretty good. ^.^

Close the manhole, to be safe.
Put the bench on the manhole as well.  (If you can lift the cover that other guy probably can too)

Then sit on it.

Ho sht when did the monster get that big?

Curl up in a ball and pretend to be dead.

(I'd suggest climbing a tree, but from the way he jumped into frame I doubt that'd be effective.)

Tell the guard you are not a monster, but in fact a civizilized gentlemans.  Also you're drunk, poor, and have no memory of your past or how you even got here.

Or.

Offer him some booze.

Add-Ons / Re: CashmodII_Fixed

I believe there's a cashAdd event in there somewhere.  Also I think there's a grant command that admins can use.

It's been three weeks since I posted this so I seem to have forgotten everything about the mod. ^.^

Help / Re: glitched welcome message?
« on: April 30, 2013, 03:04:39 PM »
Enter the following into the console:

$Pref::Server::WelcomeMessage = "Welcome to my server.";

Try using quit(); right after that just to test saving it once.

If quit(); doesn't export the preferences properly, you can go in and manually edit the config file at:

blockland/config/server/prefs.cs

Just open that with a text editor and... do stuff.

Or, I think you can manually export the prefs file. >.O  It's something like:

export("$Pref::*", "config/server/prefs.cs");
or maybe
export("$Pref::Server::*", "config/server/prefs.cs");

The * is a wildcard.  Also source.

Actually if you're going to do that I suggest testing it first with something like:
export("$Pref::Server*", "preftest.cs");
To see if it saved all of the settings correctly.

Added the SideWalk ramp to finish off this pack.

I also made some... less steep ramps and released them as a seperate pack.
You can find them here.

Some Extra ramps which can be used with the brickpack found here.

It's just four ramps:

angle? length? width?
16x32.  I'm not really sure about the angle,  but it goes from 0 to 34 plates up.  so... shrugginess.
