Off Topic / Is Evolution a Scientific Law, Theory, or both?
« on: June 08, 2012, 12:55:31 PM »
I've discovered a lot of intelligent controversy over this. Evolution is well-known as a scientific theory, but it has gained so much evidence that we can even see it in action in laboratories (speciation and micro-evolution). According to Google, a scientific law states a repeated observation about nature. Now that it has been observed, should we call it a law, a law and a theory, or still a theory?

Pretty interesting. I'm surprised at how fast it loaded. Check it out by clicking on the ticket on Google's current logo.

Games / New Runescape Combat System?
« on: June 01, 2012, 08:12:45 PM »
The news is everywhere. I even got a flier inviting me to beta in my account. Before I sign up, can someone explain what it is?

On another note, I'm curious on what 2006scape.com is. It has a nasty looking home page, and if it's a pirating site I'll remove the link.

Cleverbot: And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain.

User: Don't carry the world upon your shoulders.

Cleverbot: For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool.

User: By making his world a little colder.

Cleverbot: Hey jude, don't let me down.

User: You have found her, now go and get her.

Cleverbot: Remember to let her into your heart.

User: Then you can start to make it better.

Cleverbot: So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin.

User: Hey Jude, don't make it bad.

Cleverbot: Take a sad song and make it better.

User: Remember to let her into her heart.

Cleverbot: Then you can start to make it better.

User: Hey Jude, don't be afraid.

Cleverbot: You were made to go out and get her.

I'm sorry but I have to share these with someone. This is too funny.

And finally your language is in direct opposition to the teachings of Jesus. I think you are mentally disturbed and should seek professional help before you hurt someone or yourself.

You are a moron, because Christian people do not torture and murder anyone its against their teaching and beliefs you are a puppet of the athiest brainwash agenda. Troll troll thats what you people do without any acrtual evidence to support your claims

God defeated death a long time ago. If you dont have Jesus you should fear death. It not a scare tactic. Its the truth!

finally somebody has seen the light! now go preach the holy word to the environmentalists. tell them to STFU and let us continue burning our god-given fossil fuels! made from all of the animals, plants, puppies, kittens and babies god killed in the flood!

Evolutionists call facts of evolution facts if it falls within their belief framework.

Actually, I don't believe the hype that the planet is over-populated. I believe that the government has devised an elaborate scheme to make us believe that. Yes, I do believe in the conspiracy theory that they are trying to kill us off to a manageable amount of people that can be more easily controlled. Read up on the Illuminati and the One World Government conspiracy. I believe that they are responsible for lot of people abandoning the Word of God for atheism as well as many other things.

None of these are edited. In fact, if you look around a couple of Evolution debate videos you'll find them. And ones just like these. There is a treasure chest of comedy hidden within the comments of those videos.

Also, don't forget to go to YouTube and search for "sdfj".

I'm gonna stress-test an ancient Windows XP laptop I found. I haven't turned it on yet, so I don't know the specs besides what cnet.com tells me.

32-160 MB RAM
AMD K6-2 400.0 MHz processor
100.0 MHz Front Side Bus
L2 cache - 256.0 KB - Pipeline Burst Cache
PCI - S3 ViRGE/MX - 2.0 MB SGRAM graphics processor

I doubt Blockland will even open with this, but it really couldn't hurt to try. While I'm searching for the plug, does anyone have an idea on this speed?

Off Topic / Missing AC->DC plug for laptop; DIY alternative?
« on: May 20, 2012, 11:45:41 PM »
I found an ancient laptop that I'd really like to get running, but I don't have the correct DC plug size. I have DC adapters with the right voltage, but the plug doesn't fit. Is there some way to make to make an adapter between a proper voltage dc plug to charge a laptop with the wrong sized charging plug hole? Google only turned up ways to make your own DC adapter itself.

Off Topic / Science people: debunk this (OP image fixed)
« on: May 19, 2012, 11:17:28 PM »
A few minutes ago, a friend showed me this:

The first thing I think of when I see a troll physics comic is why it won't work. But this time I can't. Neither of us can (in fact he's trying it). There must be a sciencey way to debunk this. I know it won't work, but the only thing I can think of that might hinder it is the water barrier. But that doesn't really count, since it's not part of the actual idea behind this.

Smart people gogogo

Off Topic / YouTube comments
« on: May 07, 2012, 04:39:21 PM »
It's not hard to see that YouTube is getting dumber. My English teacher was so pissed off at the unintelligent and poorly-written comments that he assigned us to write three decent, on-topic replies on a video and screenshot them.

So, seen any that catch your eye? Post them here and share your thoughts. I'm certain there's a lot of possible content on this subject, and that this might turn out pretty entertaining.

I dont need to say anything for this one:

that showed NO animal specie examples. There are new butterflie species every month, however thats not macro either. Did that butterfly turn into a fish? That would be a macro event. The problem with Atheist comments are in most cases that they do NOT verify, they simply elephant hurl comments without any basis of proof, and theories are NOT proof either. So when you say proof of speciation, ?? What are you trying to prove? Certainly not macro evolution as per Darwins theories.

Off Topic / Anyone know how STAR tests are graded?
« on: May 02, 2012, 01:42:40 PM »
Google isn't giving very good results; all I've seen is how the different grading levels are ordered. Where can I find the percent correct you need to get advanced? I remember someone on this forum was a teacher.
