Rotondo/kompressor confirmed that even if they make vehicle physics 100% perfect, they'll add the space launch collisions back in, yesterday on rotondo's stream

Off Topic / Re: Clarence - oh my god it's actually pretty good?
« on: April 21, 2014, 05:41:18 PM »
Watched the first 4 minutes or so, turned it off because it was way too cringy
Then I saw everyone in this thread really liked it, so I gave it another chance and finished watching the whole thing

My honest opinion: It is not a good show, and I will not watch any more of it even if you say it's good. The remainder of the video I watched was not nearly as cringy as the first few minutes, and I do not despise the show, but it was far removed from "good". I actually did chuckle at the point where the fries went down the slide, but that was it. I was not bothered by the characters or their apparent mental illnesses, but they seemed to play straight into stereotypes without any deviation. That's pretty much why I found the fries sliding down amusing, it was the only thing that was not 100% predictable

It wasn't terrible and like I said I don't hate it, but it was just unfunny and devoid of meaning, uninteresting. Don't tell me you didn't see the "oh I guess I had fun after all in the playpen ok lets be friends again now" coming a mile away. Everyone (here and in yt comments) seems to think it's good directly compared to the ads they put out about it. That's a really stupid way to judge something. "well it's not nearly as bad as it could be, therefore it's a great show!" It's the magic of expectations: they market it as a stuffty show and then everyone is surprised when it turns out to be 65% assed instead of half.

I'll also directly compare this show to Rick and Morty, even though they're clearly aimed at two different audiences (which also may be why I find no value in clarence). For Rick and Morty, someone also made a thread like this on the BLF saying "Rick and Morty is actually a pretty good show!". I had seen a few promos for the show and was not very impressed. It just didn't grab my attention. I clicked on the link in the OP anyway, because I had maybe half an hour before I had to leave for work and thought I would watch maybe 3 minutes, form my opinion and then come back to it later if it was decent. Within the first minute of the episode I was hooked (Rick burst in to Morty's room drunk, iirc). It was engaging enough for me to watch the entire thing, even though I had planned to do other stuff in that half hour. That's the main reason that I think clarence is stuffty: there's nothing engaging. The characters appear to be skin deep, there's very little relevant humor and the cringe factor is too high for me to enjoy it.

There is basically no speed or performance difference.
Unless of course he has a quad-channel memory controller on his motherboard that would allow for more concurrent bandwidth. Otherwise I agree with what you've said

I think for what you're doing the cpu is probably more important the the gpu, so I would change the GPU to this
I would normally suggest that you change the cpu to an i5-3350P but it seems to be out of stock on newegg
You could probably still go for an i5-4670k and stay under $700, but it's a little pricey for your build

Aside from cpu/gpu your build is probably fine, your brother is georges
Actually, I would suggest upping to a 500W psu just for some overhead

A little bit of friendly advice: you don't know what you're talking about
I'm not saying that because I'm mean, I'm saying it because it's true. You don't know what computer parts you want, so it follows logically that you don't know how to quantify what you want. Trust me and heedicalling, asking for benchmarks from the forums is useless. Tell us your max budget so we can get a better idea of what kind of hardware you could get.

wtf

Just look up benchmarks or something, or ask people who know what they're talking about cough megathread cough
Just how useful do you think a random (and tiny) sample size of vastly different system, settings, programs, and benchmarks is going to be?

Rotondo also mentioned on his twitter a while back about going to a steam dev conference and adding hats to games.

If you're going to change your name, don't change it to something stupid. Take it from me, appending numbers to your name is silly.

but there is the future to improve, and you try to shoot down what I'm uploading. My uploading is trial and error so I can get my stuff together.
Deleting these videos = improving
