The land economy is only useful in restricted cities, where land isn't always available. If the city becomes restricted in the future, players will simply jack up the prices in the real estate, judging themselves how much lots should be worth.

The mayor doesn't hold all the authority in the town, either. You still have your policemen... It's not like things will change when he leaves.

After all, CityRPGs have been without mayors for ages. problem?

What if the mayor simply leaves?
The mayor could just leave the server any day and everyone has to disconnect some time.
It wouldn't really affect anything, he'd just waste his money and time. You're only mayor for a day, after all. (Real time)

In the industrial sense, I'd just bring to life a new industry, this industry being clothing, and give the seller of clothes the ability to customize wares and colors.

Now everyone has access to clothing, and tailors have more to do. Industry.

Rogues are the best people alive. Long live the rogues.  That was my job. Me and Pacnet would loving kill everyone, while i climbed up our tower with a machinegun in hand. He was stealthily sniping people. It was the best time ever. <3

I would have been okay with that if the tower wasn't so ugly.

Go for it. 32x64 would be fine, keep it all on the baseplates, regular 32x32s would work perfectly. Use default bricks, but if you really really really must have some sort of brick-pack, tell me which.

I can't wait either.

This feature has so many possibilities; and the rewards are endless.
It provides plenty of issues to campaign over (job development, police investment, taxation, corruption) and it provides players with a feeling of equality, and power over their communal development.

If you want Iban, I'd love to build town hall.

If you don't want a town hall, then my first goal as mayor is to build one for future predecessors.

That brings me to another question I've been meaning to ask...

Will mayoral properties (Mayoral mansion/Town hall) be transferred to the next mayor's ownership upon completed election?

Or will there be no such thing as mayoral properties? After all, mayors can just steal out of the city coffers and make their own, nontransferable lots.
