Music / After School Special 8-Bit
« on: February 29, 2012, 02:27:25 AM »
I made an 8-bit remix of the After School Special music in Famitracker.  I have provided links for listening to it in video form or in-game.  I hope you like it!

Ogg loop:

On another note, since this technically counts as something I actually made as opposed to something I just looped, I wasn't entirely sure where to post this.  I eventually settled on posting here, obviously.  Is there a forum section for fan labor or something?  Should I make another thread there?

Suggestions & Requests / JVS stone door
« on: February 27, 2012, 03:01:31 PM »
Ostensibly it's just an ordinary 1x6x5 brick, but when it's activated, it slides sideways with a stone-on-stone scraping sound effect, not unlike the sound the manhole cover makes.  Could be great for secret passages or not-so-secret stone temple doors.

Suggestions & Requests / Facial Animation
« on: February 23, 2012, 02:46:04 AM »
Does anyone else feel that the player characters in Blockland are a bit lacking in life?  How about a little facial animation?  Basically, each face that the player can select from the avatar options menu would have multiple textures that the game would use depending on the circumstances.  Some possible examples:
  • Blinking at regular intervals.
  • Mouth movement when chatting.
  • Lovestruck (love), angry (hate), confused (confusion), surprised (alarm), and happy (win) faces to go with the various emotes.
  • By extension, angry face while/shortly after using a weapon.
  • Also by extension, happy face after finding treasure.
  • Pain, low-health, and dead faces.
  • Closed eyes (and maybe Z emote) when the player hasn't moved in at least five minutes.
Of course, this is probably not an idea that anyone can just mod into the game; it would have to be an official update for it to really work, and I'm sad to know that this idea will likely never get that far.  Still, a man can dream, right?

Faces, Decals, Prints / Pony eyes, cutie marks, and mouth
« on: February 13, 2012, 11:36:44 AM »
A collection of prints taken from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  Eyes, cutie marks, and one mouth-and-nostrils print.  The first add-on contains eye and cutie mark prints for the "mane six".  The second add-on gives you prints for building the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Cheerilee, Big Macintosh, Derpy, and princesses Celestia and Luna.  The third add-on contains just one print; a smiling pony mouth you can print on ramp bricks.  Ponies and colorset not included.

Install these just like any other Blockland add-ons.  Place the Zip files in your Blockland/Add-Ons folder.

Suggestions & Requests / F. L. U. D. D.
« on: January 31, 2012, 02:33:34 AM »
I think this would be an awesome weapon/tool if anyone's up to the challenge.  Basically, FLUDD from Super Mario Sunshine.

In its primary mode, it would shoot water in the direction you're aiming.  This water would do no damage, but it would probably activate OnProjectileHit events (and/or a new OnFluddHit event) and push (possibly tumble?) players and vehicles.

Its secondary mode (switched to by pressing the jet or light button/key or something) sprays water straight down regardless of the direction you're looking and otherwise has a function identical to fuel jets.

As for ammo, it would be neat if it had to be refilled by jumping in water or collecting water bottles, but it probably isn't necessary.  Then again, none of this is really necessary to begin with, just a fun idea I had.

Suggestions & Requests / Damageless "Weapon"
« on: January 23, 2012, 10:33:47 PM »
What I'm asking for is oddly specific, but should be pretty easy for anyone who actually knows what they're doing (read:not me).  For something I'm making, I need a "weapon" that very rapidly fires small, fast, long-range, no-gravity, zero-damaging projectiles with perfect accuracy.  Ideally, it would look like a paint can, and the projectiles would be laser-like and silent.  If you need a name for it, just call it the Cursor.

AoT General / Guide to Values of Dropped Gold

I was somewhat fascinated by the way different values of dropped gold look, and I made this for some reason.

AoT General / Music Script?
« on: February 17, 2011, 10:07:48 AM »
I was wondering if it would be possible to make a script that plays music (probably in .ogg format) depending on your location.  If it is possible, could someone make it?  It would be pretty awesome.

Suggestions & Requests / Advanced Water Shader
« on: November 01, 2010, 03:31:16 PM »
This would probably be ridiculously complex, and I don't know if it's something Torque is even capable of.  Basically, water that isn't transparent, undulating bricks.  More specifically, has a fog effect, getting more opaque the thicker a body of water is; more transparent when viewed straight-on, more reflective when viewed at an angle; and refraction.  If you don't know what I'm getting at, look at the water in Half-Life 2.  The game's already six years old, but it was one of the first games to have water that actually looks like water, and it looks great.

Edit:  I forgot to add that if this IS possible, there would be options if you want this effect to apply not at all, to map water, or to all water (including water bricks).

AoT General / Good AoT Alternative?
« on: July 21, 2010, 10:03:50 AM »
Hi, everybody.  I have to say, I like Age of Time, but I've practically done everything there is to do, and Badspot has essentially abandoned working on the game.  So I was wondering, what would be a good alternative to Age of Time that's still "alive"?  As in, a persistent-world fantasy action game with currency, crafting, an economy, etc.

Help / Crash upon joining any server
« on: June 21, 2009, 01:52:23 AM »
Every time I try to join any server, the game crashes.  The game runs perfectly in single-player mode.  I am given no clue as to what could possibly cause this.  Any ideas?
