Help / Blockland & Linux
« on: March 21, 2010, 08:54:46 PM »
I just installed Ubuntu on one of my desktops and I've been trying to get some of my old games over. I installed Blockland fine but when I try to run it through WINE it freezes at the first frame and renders itself useless.

I know that a lot of forum users have gotten it to work but I just can't figure it out.

The picture below is what happens when I start it. It freezes there with no mouse movement or any other thing that signals that it's working.

Off Topic / Arghh... Linux or no?
« on: March 21, 2010, 01:19:46 AM »
After an odd very extensive turn of events I've forgeted up windows XP on one of my older computers.
In turn, I've been contemplating whether or not to install Ubuntu on it.

Other then Puppy Linux (which I'm running on this machine right now...) I've never used a Linux Distro.
And I have quite a few questions. First off, I was wondering if I could get steam on it and perhaps be able to play some of the games linked to that account.

Off Topic / Computer case
« on: January 07, 2010, 05:07:06 PM »
I've been considering getting a new case for a while now but I can't decide on which one to get. I know that can I read and watch hundreds of reviews (which I have) but I wanted first hand experience.

There are a few things that I would like to see in this case;

  • Removable mobo tray
  • Cable management holes
  • Tool less drives
  • Decent air cooling with water cooling abilites
  • Full or Mid tower
  • A spot where I could mount a radiator

All of those are just requests that do not have to be meant.

I just want a good case.

I built two computers on the [NWB] Dedicated server a few weeks ago.
Overall I think that they came out pretty nice considering that these are the first props I've built.

I would also like to use this as an HB app.

Anyways, here ya go

Mini-Itx desktop:

Back (entrance is in the power outlet)

Another Inside:

The second build was a netbook of some kind

Side: (Both are identical)

Looking down: (Hey look! It's me!)

Both of these builds should still be on the NWB server if you want to see them in person.

Rate if you want.

Games / GMOD help
« on: December 14, 2009, 06:03:41 PM »
I just bought GMOD last weekend and haven't really sat down to play it until now. In single player I saved a creation so I could finish it later. Upon trying to edit it in any way I got this error thing:

Is this supposed to happen?

Not quite sure where this goes...
Anyways, I saw some users on other forums using a system similar to this.
All you have to do is paste the stamp that correspondes to your computer and paste it in your profile.

Anyways, here they are!

Ha, I'm back yet again.
Anyways, as you can see in the pics. below, I kept the main building of my previous app.
I took out one wall and made it twice as big and Completely redid the interior.

This is the front of the house on a Slate Waters map.

A side view of the house showing the new addition and fireplace.

A picture showing the house from the back featuring the deck, addition and Pool.

A birds eye view of the house.

The Kitchen and Dining Room.

I took much more pictures of the building, please check out the gallery Here. http://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu353/Liams_pics/

When I started the original application I was on the iEvent server. Upon finishing the exterior I went to my server and finished it. The old topic about was labeled NWB app. but, since all of the NWB members except for Crazy Salt didn't vote but instead gave criticism I gave up. I later was asked if I finished my application and iEvent leaders reviewed it and passed it. After this, I changed the name to iEvent app. And now, after following the suggestions I present you with this, the fixed version.

General Discussion / Ephialtes. Stolen Key?
« on: July 02, 2009, 03:33:07 AM »
I was on a server the other day and saw that Ephialtes was there.
So I looked at the player list and noted that his I.D. was in the 12k's.
After asking I was told that his I.D. was stolen and he couldn't seem to get it back.
So then another player started asking questions about seeing him on a server the other day and them working on something. The player didn't really trust him so asked questions which went unanswered and then sent several MSNs which also went unanswered. At that point I guess I lost interest and left questioning myself.
So as asked, is it him or am I just incredibly uninformed?
Since it was made clear, This person claimed to be the real Ephialtes and said so often.
