Check RBM in the pipeline and use these settings:

Press Apply in the top right and everything will look really messed up. If not, then your shaders aren't enabled or your GPU doesn't support something.

Help / Alt+F4 does not work on Windows anymore

Pressing Alt+F4 (forcibly closes the program in focus for those unaware) was my preferred method of quickly closing the game but it does not seem to work anymore. Using the shortcut prints "Issuing Disconnect packet." to the console but the game just freezes and becomes completely unresponsive.

Clicking around inside the window shows the standard Windows "not responding" dialog with the following details:

If you need to move the origin back to the center of the geometry, select all of the geometry in edit mode, snap the cursor to selection, and then (in object mode I believe) move the origin to cursor.
Or press Ctrl + Shift + Alt + C while the object is selected in object mode. Blender can have some really funky shortcuts sometimes. Then you can use Shift + S to snap to center.

Brick Wall Prints

You know how tiling 1x2x1 or 1x2f bricks on top of each other in an alternating pattern like this makes for a really neat wall?



Just kidding. Those are 12 1x4x4 print bricks.

I have no idea why this has not been made before. The 1x2x1 print saves a neat 10 bricks and the 1x2f print saves a whopping 28 bricks for a 1x4x4 sized area.

Which ones do you reckon are the prints?

So what's the catch? Because there always is one.

Print bricks are shiny.


Nothing I can do about that. But the prints are indistinguishable indoors where there is no direct sunlight. About 80 bricks pictured.

The prints are organized as such from left to right:
  • 1x2x1 Left End
  • 1x2x1 Middle (Tiling)
  • 1x2x1 Right End
  • 1x2x1 Cap (Does not tile)
  • 1x2f Left End
  • 1x2f Middle (Tiling)
  • 1x2f Right End
  • 1x2f Cap (Does not tile)

Looking sharp? The prints are 2048x2048 textures.

But wait, I can almost hear you say "Won't the file size be huge and the load times long?". Nope. That's the magic of PNG optimization. For comparison, the Print_2x2f_Default add-on has seven 512x512 prints at 248 KiB. This add-on has eight 2048x2048 prints at 103 KiB. PNGGauntlet <3

The prints are identical for each add-on, only the name is different.

Ignore what QuadStorm said about not using the Mediator with ReShade. Use it, it makes your life easier. Since all the tutorials I found online were useless:

Guide to Installing ReShade
  • Download and extract ReShade into some permanent location.
  • Open the Mediator.
  • Press Add and find your Blockland .EXE.
  • Select OpenGL and press Confirm.
  • Press Browse and browse to your ReShader folder > PersonalFiles > Presets.
  • Press Add above the Browse button.
  • A preset has now been created and can be modified.
  • There's no need to press Permanent Push To Application, the effects will work without it. Closing the Mediator will not affect anything.

Guide to Configuring ReShade
  • In the Common tab make sure that RFX_Start_Enabled is 1 so the effects are enabled automatically.
  • In the Common tab change the RFX_ToggleKey (toggle effects) according to ReShader folder > PersonalFiles > KeyCodes.h. I use VK_F6 or the F6 key.
  • Use the Pipeline tab to turn effects on and off.
  • Press the Apply button to enable the effects that have been turned on in real-time.
  • Press the effect names in the Pipeline tab to configure them. (Not all effects have configurable parts.)
  • Settings that are blue and underlined are actually text fields. Click them and edit them like normal text.
  • Once you're happy with your effects, press the Update button above the Browse button in the Setup tab to save your changes to the preset so they will be used the next time you launch the game.
  • The presets are in your ReShader folder > PersonalFiles > Presets if you want to edit them manually.

Here's something to get you started. My FPS varies wildly but I estimate I get ~5 FPS drop with these settings:

The Script was a example ;-) but i create usefull things for all in future :-)
Please don't release anything you've made with the DTS Brick System I linked. It's terrible. Besides you can convert any OBJ to BLB with General's converter. The thing you posted would work just fine as a BLB.

And... you didn't ask them what happened?
Few clients come back after the second crash and if they do they're only in for a second or two before another crash. Not enough time to chat. I also can't contact them outside my server because RTB IRC is no longer a thing.

I have no idea. All I know is that the clients disconnect.

I'm pretty sure that's what's happening, it's also why it happens seemingly randomly. Eventually someone will say something in chat or any other event happens which causes it to start writing the big datablock at almost the end of a packet.

For example, if you're loading files in a server with noone talking, and send a ~50-60 character text message at the right time, everyone's load will break.

Datablocks can be quite big so they suffer from the same problem.
Sounds to me like the datablock loading system is fundamentally flawed if you crash clients by sending a chat message.

p sure this is not what is happening, the only time i have encountered this is when a field from JumpSound was removed and some people (not all) were crashing because of it
The weird thing is that clients do get in if they try enough times.

Some add-on(s) I have enabled on my server randomly crash people who are loading that datablock (when connecting) and considering the number of add-ons I have enabled, trying to figure out what add-on it is would take forever. Does an add-on exist that tells the host (in the console) the name of the datablock being sent to a connecting client? This way I could easily check what datablock caused the client to disconnect.
