Consciousness = being aware of yourself and your surroundings. Scientifically speaking consciousness is an integral part of the brain and when you die your neurons shut down and your brain will start to decompose. So when you die you lose consciousness and never regain it. So you are not aware of darkness or lack of audiovisual stimuli. There's no "you" to be aware of anything.
These are of course theories since as far as we know nobody has ever come back from being dead and by definition nobody should.

How is the angle determined?

More would be below or out of display aside from the large window in the forward.It doesn't matter where you have your windows because there are no directions in space. Having windows below the craft is exactly the same as having windows in the front of the ship.

RAW is a completely uncompressed format, then I believe is BMP, PNG, and JPG. Size depends a little on the image but generally speaking RAW > BMP > PNG > JPG but I have had PNG images are larger in the JPG format.
