Off Topic / Re: Anime and Manga Megathread
« on: December 09, 2012, 03:17:31 PM »
I've only been watching action/fantasy/scifi/adventure animes but I would like to try something new. Can someone suggest me a good drama or other (not any of the genres mentioned before) type animes to me? I've been avoiding slice of life animes because the synopses sound very boring. Something shortish (~30-60 eps) would be good, I'm not in the mood for Bleach type monsters.

Out of all the series I've seen Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World stands out like a sore thumb but I loved every episode of it.

It technically is part of the tree.

Thanks, Blockland anti-aliasing.
It is part of the tree and it looks bad because of the angle it was shot from and the fact that the stripe doesn't have two sides.

I've started playing this game three times each time reaching around the time you go to the 3rd/4th island then gradually losing interest. I've never finished the game. It's too long and gets boring.

are you trying to say as little as possible with every post? just wondering
I'm assuming people have read the thread. But if you insist.

I kind of remembered that you could make a brick a water brick and not have those features but I might be wrong. I guess I'm thinking about the zone bricks here but since they are invisible you can't see the water effect.
You can turn rendering, raycasting, and collision on with them, and they look fine.

Seems like you could just make it a zonebrick?
You can, but, again, OP wants the brick to be visually thinner than other bricks, and also centered in-between the studs.
You can do that with zone bricks.

Oh and those float cubes are water bricks.

Start of the darker green stripe that goes around the tree.

I haven't done any 'shopping lately so I got a little excited.

God damn it.

Towards the end I was just loving around with the flame things at the foreground.

YES. I loved the book. I don't even know who recommended it to me but it came totally out of left field. I had no idea what to expect but I loved the stuff out of that book when I first read it. I need to read it again soon, I haven't checked out any of the others in the series either. Oh man I really forgot about this series.

There's an older movie made from it?

Bookmarks toolbar feels cheap to me. Too simple. I don't use one.

Give it your social security number to show it your true love!

If you have a window frame that you need to completely fill in, and you can't do that because the window is a shape like a circle-window or something, then just use the window glass brick and it will fit inside any window frame shape you want
Yes, that is what OP wants. You just summarized op in a sentence.

Not the window frame.
You would place the window brick which normally would have no collision.
This would give the visual effect of the window.
Then you would place normal (5X height let's say) brick inside of the window frame that would keep collision, but rendering would be turned off.
It would appear that the window brick was keeping you from going through, when in fact there was an invisible brick inside of it.
I would rather make a special window glass brick rather than a frame. That frame only has one style but glass fits anything. I'm pretty sure the reason op wants this is so the glass is actually visible. Otherwise you could just leave the window empty and put some invisible bricks to prevent people from going through.

Would it be possible to make a thin water brick with visible sides and non-undulo?
If this was the case, you would only need to turn on collision.
I kind of remembered that you could make a brick a water brick and not have those features but I might be wrong. I guess I'm thinking about the zone bricks here but since they are invisible you can't see the water effect.

Delivered. Shell can post the image if he wants.

Place your window brick
Place bricks inside the area it fills up
Make those bricks invisible

It's pretty loving simple man
I'm still not getting it.

Why would you make your window frame invisible?

3000
Well you could do this, and then put bricks in the window with rendering off, and it would have the same effect.
What? I have no idea what you're trying to say here.

Just roll with water bricks. It will work much, much better.
