Blockland

Smooth shading is fugly.
When used in moderation it looks fantastic. Default models have smooth shading too.

When i try downloading the file becomes a text document. Is this right?
It's a problem with your browser. Right click the download link and select "Save Link as.." or similar.

Use god mode so you dont have to worry about dying ever
Never use god mode in any game. It sucks out all the fun. No exceptions.

However, to keep myself sane, I signed up for a glass blowing class in a couple of days, so I'm pretty stoked about that
I think we all know what you're going to make there.

The amount of fun in Skyrim is directly proportional to the amount of mods enabled. I've spent a good 9 hours one day hunting for Skyrim mods.

Cheese Wheel: 1
Baguette: 1
Bread: 2
Chicken Leg: 2

They look awesome :D
I will have votes for everything individually.

Have utensils like forks, knives, plates, and mugs been made as BLBs? I know there are props but they are props.

Modification Help / Food bricks | Released on RTB
« on: September 10, 2012, 12:58:01 PM »
I've colored the bricks in the screenshots with some sensible colors but they are of course paintable in game. Some parts (Like the green stem of the tomato) are not paintable. I will not add brick textures or complex collisions. Both are a waste of my time and processing power.

RTB Release
Thanks to siba we have the old corn model back. Small fixes to a few brick icons. Minor color changes.

Final screenshot.

To-Do (Need more suggestions)
  • Leek
  • Half of a bread
  • Bread slice

Development Release 5
Fixed some brick models, improved collisions, improved brick grid, added brick icons. Changed the corn model. The old model simply wouldn't work like I wanted and I've fought with that model ever since I made it. forget it. I'm rolling with this model. It could be used as crystal or something as well. 31 bricks.

Final dev release before RTB. If you have some critique/suggestions say it now.
Development Release 4
Fixed cheese wheel. Added bacon, lemon, and coconut. Watermelon suspended indefinitely, texturing is not yet supported and I don't feel like figuring out how brick UVs work when nobody else has ever done them before.

NOTICE: I changed the datablock names to be more unique. This might make bricks planted with older versions of this add-on not load. Didn't test/Don't care.

Development Release 3
Fixed pineapple, meat, pear, potatoes, corn plant, drumbell, and generic plant. There's still something funny going on with the corn. Planned for next release: watermelon, coconut, and lemon.

Development Release 2
Still in development. Loads-e-bricks included this time. Some included bricks are broken or aligned wrong. Colors included. Bacon is not included yet as I need to figure out how to make the light strip properly. Vote added.

Known broken bricks: Pineapple, pear, potatoes, corn, meat smooth, corn plant, drumbell, generic plant.

Please report any problems with the bricks.

Development Release 1
I did not include all the bricks yet or color some parts. It's still in development.

The idea of including the models with the bricks is that if someone wants to use them they're easily accessible. Nothing beats a resource that's already there, especially if a lot of players will already have it downloaded.
I get your point but I'd rather not clutter the add-on. If someone needs them for their RPG or whatever I can provide.

I'd suggest making the stems on the tomato and apple a bit larger / thicker. With the way the proportions are it looks like a normal apple / tomato scaled down, and not nearly toy-like enough.
Yeah I'll do that.

Also I like the middle cheese wheel. You should really consider checking out how most of the others look smoothed. Flat-shaded organic shapes tend to look really ugly imo.

And, croissant!
I'll think about pastries later.

You should do the actual brick of the cheesewheel as quarter and eighth bricks - like wedges set up in such a way as to be able to be placed into the cheesewheel.
I can really only do quarters since eighths would require two bricks to be inside one another.

When you release those you should include the actual models and maybe item icons of them (with and without the semitransparent circle background) in the zip for modders to use in their projects.
I don't see a reason why but I don't have anything against giving away my models if people (who could actually do something with them) specifically ask me for them.

Oh, and might I suggest smoothshading the vertical strips of the apple? I'm not sure how it'd look but I'd like to see
