Add-Ons / Re: Resurrect Command
« on: October 14, 2009, 10:34:59 PM »
Well, I've made it so admins can't resurrect themselves. I do like the idea of abuse-prevention.

To do this I was thinking it would record the last person you resurrected and would not allow you to resurrect them again until you have resurrected another player.
Nice idea.

I think a "You can only resurrect a player every 30 seconds."-like thing is a good idea.

Ontopic:
Put a hole (black circle that doesn't stick out, really) in front.
I haven't tested the thing itself so I have not much more to say.

Offtopic:
I made this funny bomb thing... This is an older picture. In my new model the smaller piece at the top is lower.

Put it on RTB too, and put an RTB link but don't remove the mediafire link.

Help / Re: Howto: Host a dedicated server on Linux
« on: October 14, 2009, 02:40:43 PM »
Wine wouldn't run Blockland, let alone a server, correctly for me.
I have a rather old computer and it runs Debian Linux, using Wine 1.1.30 (i think) and it runs my dedicated servers beautifully.

Intel Itanium 2 at ~2.67GHz? I thought they only were from 733MHz to 1.66GHz...
Is that really your processor?

Also, does a clean install of Blockland do this? (Don't uninstall, just install Blockland again somewhere else)

no
Ok so make the error happen and press the Print Screen key (on my keyboard it says Print Scrn | SysRq).
Then open up a half-decent image editor, press CTRL+V, press CTRL+S, select where you want to save it, press save, and press ALT+F4 (to get rid of the image editor). Send the file.

Or you can right-click "dedicated.bat" and use the "Open with WINE application layer" option.
Though I kind of thought it could, I never really knew that WINE could run batch files.
Thanks for the info.

I'm hoping Badspot would include a dedicated.sh file that runs "wine blockland -dedicated" which would be the same behaivor of windows' dedicated.bat :D
