Those massive cube borders were terrible even before they cast an enormous shadow over the area. I hope you will try very hard to make an alternative.

My brother had a dream that there was a video game system that was highly restricted and disclaimed, because it was so addictive it would cause you to lose interest in everything else, including basic bodily functions. Looking at it briefly it was just a blur of image and sound, but you could "master" it and be overloaded with stimuli, and violently refuse to be taken from it until death.

I'll go for way too long at a time playing some games, but a couple hours of dehydration or sleepiness will pull me out of it. I couldn't imagine anything distracting me for four days.
I don't like that they put first-person shooter in suspicious quotes, named other incidents of people going horribly overboard with video games and made references to addiction. People like this would find other ways to ruin themselves if video games weren't around.

That would be exceedingly difficult to make and would look dumb for pretty much everything
