Bisjac blog time.

I been living mobile all year so i haven't had my lovey desktop ; ; and by now its stuff anyways. So i grabbed myself this Vaio from best buy in Feb10.
Back in Jan, loving microsoft did some kind of little w7 update, that caused my bios to update itself. well Sony don't like drivers they themselves don't pick for their hardware. so the hard-drive fan started running really really hard and loud, because the Sony diagnostics software figured the comp was hot or something.

Couldn't roll back, couldn't reinstall the old drivers. So i reformatted using my own w7 disk. (i didn't pay the 100 bucks for the best buy recovery disk)
well it appears Sony especially hates that, as now nothing worked right.
manually downloaded every little millionth driver off the sony support page for this model. caught up now on the sony software they require me to use. other things working fine again, but of course back to the fan and fps problem.
i now have a comp overheating and shutting down, and i cant game anything better then 20fps

solution; opened it all up and unplugged the harddrive fan lol. ironically the only heat i was getting was caused by the fan itself running so hard.
this made the sony software stfu about the fan, and allowed my comp to run at its gaming specs again.

there is a MS;IT degree for ya. just unplug it.

you know how you buy the ps3 version, and you can own on the pc as well. or other way around however it works.
is this related to ps3-steam? do you have to preorder from gamestop or something for this?

Off Topic / Best buy laptop $900 budget

The girlfriend is wanting a new computer. but unfortunately it has to be a laptop. and even more unfortunately it has to be best buy (gift card from family)
and that $900USD wouldn't seem so bad, except she wants to play games...

i havnt looked at laptops in a long while. i dont know what best buy carries, and from what friend tells me, the website isnt accurate to all the options in store.

-im hoping something with a dedicated video chip, and can handle casual gaming at med graphic settings.
does this exist at best buy and at that price?

who of you have been there looking at pooters recently.

I'm hanging with one of my friends all weekend here.

His roommate has been watching hundreds of these handicapped ass videos all day. non stop. real loud. and hes one of them starfishs who always has something you "have to see!!!" on his computer, calling you over all the time and you roll your eyes knowing it will be lame.
they suck! only idiots are entertained by this crap.

Whats a good performance monitor that i can view on screen, on top of my games as i play?
to watch my cpu, memory, and gpu usage.

i dont like them monitors that i view after the fact, i dont want to look at history, i want to see it now.

I thought this was a huge waste of time, as you may as well spend time playing the ranked servers.
But me and my friends are playing lot of lan games against bots, and this game mode is awesome.

you guys add me on steam and join up with us. work on unlocking stuff for your unranked game.
We been spending all morning with hoards of easy team-bots just for money earning. but we have FFA with hard ones going as well.

basically just a santa hat on my dancing guy instead of the wizard hat.

General Discussion / Bisjac's build contest

I am feeling generous again and will be giving away any steam game to the builder that wins the community poll (post contest)
Steam game no more then your standard 60 dollar game.


On a 8x8 plate, build a statue for a courtyard of some sort. Animal, person, some creature, whatever.
It can be raised if needed, so you don't have to build flat on ground.

Just keep everything grouped together in the general spawn location. I'm not searching around slate.

Contest ends next fri or sat.

I plan to host a building contest with a prize. But am not in a situation right now to host it myself. im living between homes, and am on my laptop.
can someone do for me? including at least bi-daily cleanup adminning, although i would likely be on as well.
