Yeah I probably will end up extending it, I think I shortened it just for the tile design placement.

Most likely I'll edit the pictures maybe highlighting before/after. I've got some new ideas floating around, so I'm adjusting things and removing old parts.

Heh, reading that backstory, this sounds like my brick doodling project except good.
Sometimes you can make even the simplest things into something larger and more meaningful.

Originally it was really a simple build, loosely based off the main tower in Colditz Castle.

Nietzsche: Skele is dead.
Skele remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers?

God damn...

You are going down in my head as one of my favorites, Ronin.
Thank you for the support hehe.

But I figured the other night I might as well start posting the builds I've been keeping to myself ever since USSR disbanded. I'll see what I can post here in the Gallery.

A tiny back-story about this build, is one day Adio and I wanted to make a fort wars and I constructed this keep on top of the bed. Well Adio got tired and left, and I started to work on this more and more. Eventually I added more buildings and expanded the terrain. Well, now you see the progression this build has taken. I had no plan and I like the way the things progress through the build.

Hmm.... The exterior walls seem a bit 2-dimensional. I tend to have that problem also. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at the exterior of an NWB build.
Yeah 2 dimensions in a 3 dimensional world, I can't say I'm getting what you're trying to say.

There is extreme potential in this, and it looks great. And I have a problem, which really isn't even a full problem. More like a fraction of a problem because it's so small. Just on one of the exterior walls it looks a little hodge podge color-wise. Other than that upon viewing my Heart skipped a few beats
Yeah I'm constantly trying new ideas for the stone walls. Mostly which 3 colors work the best together, and "how old" the building is in relation to the rest. Older would be lighter colored blocks, darker might mean it's been renovated. Just something I'm experimenting with.

Edit: Oof I see where you mean, I'll edit that tonight and maybe show what I did to fix it.

Edit2: Fixed. It now flows more evenly with the colors, and added a few cosmetic changes.

Let me put this into context then...

Roughly I'm 55% done.

I'm loving this colorset. What is it?
Colorset is my own edit of Trueno's.

not bad, what's the brick count? and will it be evented?
Right now it's 45,000 bricks. Certain parts will be evented, but I'll probably get some help with that (since I barely use events).

I'd agree with this, I still miss my really old archive stuff too.

I'll add that the only duplicator work I used was on the trees, for obvious reasons. Everything else was standard block placement, it was mind numbing.

Hello.

In this grand edition of Series of Internet Plastic [or] My wasted afternoons in front of my HD, I show you something that's been kept under wraps for some time now! This has taken a great deal a time as do all my builds, and countless people can attest to the quality of my meticulous work.

F.A.Q

So what is this mysterious thread filled with?
Why it's my Bavarian Manor of course!

That is interesting, tell me more!

Manor, the land tenure unit under manorialism, a system of land tenure and organization of the rural economy and society in parts of medieval Europe

What do you mean by Spoiler? Is this finished??
No it is not, please remind yourself that this will change and be redone! Nothing here is permanent, except for the general layout of the buildings themselves. YES THERE WILL BE FURNITURE.

Did you do all of this by yourself?
More or less (i.e 98% my work). Friends like Loserhero, Barnabas, Facechild, Muffinmix, and countless others gave me input and ideas on how to fix or improve things. Mostly ideas were shared between us, but in the case of the Stoney Hill; Loserhero helped a great deal with the design. If you helped out and want me to remember you, please tell me (If not; shut up!).

Are you going to show the entire thing?
No, I like surprises as much as you do. These pictures comprise barely 1/3 of the overall build.

Well show me the damn pictures you jerk!
   OK.

UPDATES!: 11/10/09

When will it be done?
Eventually, I have no schedule. But I will update this thread occasionally until I complete the finished work.
Any updated work will eventually be put on the front page, so stay tuned.
