Off Topic / Re: What the forget is Wrong With Dentists These Days?
« on: September 11, 2008, 03:11:37 PM »
Ok, so today I went to the dentist, to get a mold, and a tooth pulled... again. :/
So, she gives me that temporary numbing stuff, so she can inject what she calls "sleeping water". I forgot the real name.. something with a "N"... I wanna say nicotine, but I know I'm wrong. :cookieMonster:
Anyways, she said that it would numb half of my mouth, chin, and lip. Well she put so much of that damn stuff in my cheek, that I couldn't feel my loving face! Why the hell do they put so much in these days? It doesn't even work half of the time. When she had to pull the mold out, it felt like she yanked out my jaw too. The 3 dentists that were looking at my teeth and doing different things, all asked my age, even though you can tell that they obviously didn't give a stuff. They have a movie you watch over head, but they put on some Alvin and the Chipmunks crap. They kept wanting to give me this damn "happy gas", or as she said, "Nitrous", to make me feel more comfortable. It made me feel like I was going to puke.

This is why I now hate the dentist.
I had to get a shot in my mouth for a cavity, that sucked. Stupid mental foramen nerve.

You guys, sorry to say but it did happen. And if you're thinking there is something fishy with the entire thing, there is.

I would like to turn your attention to a small part of history after the end of the cold war
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_in_Afghanistan

It starts to get interesting at "Insurrection" and "Foreign involvement and aid to the mujahideen"

Basically in the years before 1979, Afghanistan was building up some tension due to the feuding political bodies at the time. After a few mishaps and "accidents", it broke up into an all out revolution. The Soviet Union, much earlier on at 1919, had formed several agreements and Afghanistan effectively became the Soviet's pet project. Russia had become in charge of the military training of the afghan military and began providing other types of aids as well.

In 1979, the afghan governing body requested military action from the Soviet to help quell the turbulence. So the soviet dispatched regimes and began siezing control of the country.

Now where it gets interesting is when the US gets involved. At the time, the US were trying to seize control of the Persian Gulf, where all the fancy oil stuff was at the time. Anyways, the US decided "Oh ho them nasty soviets coming too close to our oil, let's help the afghan resistance!" and they armed and trained the resistance to combat the Russian forces. Russia withdrew, and the US immediately stopped all support for the resistance forces and simply left the scene without really giving a care to the fate of the country. That resistance dissolved into several groups who began feuding after they had seized control of the country. One of these groups became the Taliban, and they took control of the country up until 2001 when the US got pissed because they used those training sessions the US provided to them a few years back to infiltrate the US and the rest is history.

So the US indirectly caused the whole 9/11 thing by getting loving involved in a war they were simply not supposed to stick their nose in in the first place. But really, don't take my word for it, go read up on some articles. Avoid any media-related stuff though, the media is idiotic and 99% of their facts are baseless and not the entire story if ever right.
Cold war, to put it mildly was a chess game. Any time we could have humiliated the Soviets and made them look stupid, we tried. With varying marks of success.

Also Canada's doing it to itself, now they can't guarantee their own production of energy for example. Too bad, your law makers are stupider than ours.

And of course...

Conspiracy theorists often overlook logical conclusion and substitute it with circumstantial evidence and add some implausible event. Even though the facts all point to the same conclusion. I mean facts as the real definition, conclusive evidence.

Yeah I was just going off of memory, Ronin and I plan to do a remake of Shadow Moses.
That was a strange interpretation, but I'll give you credit because it looks very nice.

Yeah I'm working on setting up the Shadow Moses build (got the layout worked through). Been busy this week though.

The jury pool is pulled from other sources besides registered voters dumb ass. Do your god damned American duty.

Sarah Palin is the perfect Republican: http://www.dvorak.org/blog/?p=23600

That said, vote McCain if you liked the last eight years an feel we need to finish Iraq. Vote Obama if you want to take a chance at change and don't think America should be the world police.

Complete tax plan of both candidates(Warning: epic read): http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/UploadedPDF/411749_updated_candidates.pdf
Otis is right; you either aren't 18, or you are drat ignorant about the country you live in.

I'm a registered Independent so here's my take:

I think McCain has the upper hand on experience and his vice-presidential partner is a really good choice. I think his plans for the energy crCIA make more sense than "Lol let's research crap we already knew works". I'm all for alternative fuels, but sometimes the govt thinks in strange ways.

I don't think Obama can put forth what he claims he can, he can't debate because he's torn between appeasing the staunch liberals and the more conservative side. Basically people like him because he is a great orator. The economy is in a  dive and no matter who takes control, its going to stay the course until it finally lifts up, or the govt steps in. These things go in cycles, economic boom then a recession. (Only reason its not horrible right now, is because its an election year, next year won't be)

Caesar was great orator, look what happened there : / (obviously Obama won't claim the role of Emporer, but he's promising more than he has experience delivering)

I doubt any of you (except maybe 2 or 3) have a clue about the race except "Lul i loik obama cuz hes black which maeks him different and he say he can change the united states lul", maybe its because you don't really have a say in the process, or you listen to your parent's opinions. Not all Black people agree with Obama, I've talked to my friends and they don't agree with some of the things he's pitching. Saying all Black will vote Obama is just ignorant.

Here's how taxes play out (toned down version), Democrats want to take the tax out of your wage before you spend it (so the govt automatically has the money), Republicans give you money back so you spend it (so it helps the economy and eventually returns to the govt). So that govt check your parents received actually helped the economy. That's why Holidays are insane, govt is all for you spending money.

The war isn't ending any time soon, a stuffe muslim is in power and the Sunnis don't like that; which means, TENSION/DISTRUST. Obama can't change a religion, and if we pull out of there, its going to be way worse than before.

I highly doubt the draft will be re-initiated. Even if it does happen, go to college if you don't want to get caught. But if you want to be a bum after highschool, then you will be boned.

PS2 is seriously good stuff, get one if you don't have one (unless you already have a PS3).

Although Dreamcast had some good games, Toy Commander was really fun.
