Here, nuclear power. We have it, its safe (yes it actually is, everything scary is mostly Hollywood). Plus its long term, a lot longer than a barrel of oil.
Russia doesn't have the nuclear strength as a bargaining chip anymore, so they use their oil economy as a bargaining chip.
I think they just need a hug.

The middle picture was the picture they used for the New York Times, except it had soldiers in the background.
It was an uneven conflict, Russia had way more than enough troops to stop the Georgians. It was like a grown man kicking 2 year olds.
