Vice is a dark mystery-type text adventure set in an ancient/classical pseudo-middle east.
Recap:Chapter 1:Your assumed identity is Tommy Vercetti. You do not really know much else, except that you are plagued with horrific visions of some past; whether or not it was yours is uncertain. For some reason unknown to you, at first, everyone treated you with disdain, calling you an untouchable, until a man who beat you kicked you onto your back where your face became exposed, revealing something that made the people suddenly fear you, or rather, what you apparently are. You black out shortly after this incident, and wake up in a cold, stony prison cell with your forehead, eyes, and hands covered.
You have a flashback while in this prison where some man apparently told you that you have a purpose beyond "The Gate," but you have no idea what it means. In fear of this dark memory, you cry out asking for help. You alert the guards on accident and they discover that you're awake and promptly send for the Captain. You make acquaintance with a fellow prisoner, known only as Number 34, who rests alone in the cell opposite you. The captain then comes with two other guards, who clean you up and take you to a room called Chamber No. 4.

You suddenly are assaulted with a wave of flashbacks. You remember being in a dark chamber with torches all around. At the end, there was an altar with something on it with blood spilling off of it. You remember a man standing in white robes standing at it, with his back to you. You remember the chanting of monks in black robes. You remember a giant eye that appeared to come from shadows above the altar. You remember blood on your hands. You remember a feeling of anguish.
You wake up with a start, breathing heavily and in a cold sweat.
You are sitting in an alleyway propped between a crate and the stone wall of some building. It's hot out right now, and you seem to be in a desert town. You look down at your hands. There's not a trace of blood on them, although you can't shake the feeling for some reason. You're wearing a white tunic and robe and sandals. Your head hurts a lot, and you can't remember anything.
What's your name?
