Olga successfully subdues the beehive and is stung only twice, once on her thigh, and once on the back side of her wrist.


After Kamila finishes the initial mortar base, she gathers up pine needles and crumbles them thoroughly, albeit very uncomfortably in her hands.  She bundles them up and goes over to the tree that she just chopped down, taking some pitch off of the bark and smoothing it over the pine needles.

She then grabs the clay and sets a large lump down on the large, flat rock, flattening it and pressing her fingers into it to create a grid.  She leaves it to dry while she searches for wood.

Kamila also gathers some smaller dry sticks and some mid-size dead fallen branches, chopping them up into finer pieces.  As her grid is now dried sufficiently after her extensive search of fuel, she places it over the mortar, and surrounds the edge of the grid with a chimney pipe.

She gets a dry stick and cuts a small indentation in it about 0.5" wide with a small rock and gets another stick, placing it between her palms and begins rubbing the stick between her palms.  As she continues, smoke rises up.  She then bundles the fuel together and blows softly at first.  More and more smoke comes from the bundle until the pitch catches, where it combusts quickly.  She sets the burning lump into the mortar and begins to stack wood on top of it.  As the fire rises, she begins to shape a small pot the size of her fist out of the remaining lump of clay.

Olga looks up and finds a mid-size bee hive about a quarter of a mile inland about 40' up a tree.

Olga cuts out a 6ft section of the tree that's about 2.3 inches thick at its thickest point and about 1.9 inches thick at its thinnest point. She carefully digs out the Bdnags and shakes all the dirt off their roots. Using some inner, younger bark from the portion of thicker lumber, she fashions very low quality rope that she uses to tie the Bdnags together into a bundle.
She begins walking around the river and its contributing tributaries to get to the clay, while carrying the spear-sized "log" and the Bdnag bundle. She keeps her eyes out for edibles and she periodically stops to test the hardness of rocks by smashing them together, and observing how the rocks split. Are the fissures chunky? Dusty? Smooth?

Olga finds tegacha berries to the north of the river.  Bees are buzzing around the bush and landing on its pale pink flowers.  She arrives at the clay deposit and finds it is of moderate quality.  She finds that the rocks in the area crack smoothly.


As Kamila arrives at the stream, she chops up a fallen log that hasn't been substantially weakened by water and chops it to be 18" long.  She also finds a stick and hews it down so that these two pieces of wood can act as a simple mallet and chisel.  She begins chipping off parts of clay, piling it nearby.  When she gets a lump of about 10 lbs., she beats it with the simple club-like log mallet, beating it until it maintains a relatively consistent texture.  She then goes down to the bank and scoops some water out with her hands, dumping it on the clay.  She then kneads out the clay until it is a good consistency for forming into shapes and maintaining that shape.  She carries this lump back to the camp and then goes back to gather more clay.  She gathers two more lumps and then goes back to the camp to create a mortar shape around the hole with one side with the wind able to enter.

Olga begins observing her surroundings, and focuses on finding a young tree whose trunk is 2 to 4 inches in diameter. She also looks for vines or fibrous plants, along with anything that appears edible.

Olga finds a tree with 4" diameter and chops it down in about 3 minutes.

It looks as if there is no vines in this climate.  As Olga searches, she can't find any trees with fibrous cambium layers.

Olga digs with the handle of her axe at the roots of some plants.

After further searches near the banks of the river, she sees a small clay deposit on the other side.

Adok takes a look at his surroundings, looking first for a source of water, and then food.

Adok sees the bay through the trees in the area, but with the smell of salt in the air, he's going to guess that he can't drink this water.

As he hears his surroundings, he hears the cries of sea birds.

«Adok has discovered the Cirda^Ψ.»

Adok also looks around and sees Pralil trees bearing nuts.


After a few minutes, Kamila chops down the tree.  Immediately, she begins to bare it, stripping off the evergreen branches and moving everything to the west side of her to-be settlement.  With the area she cleared, she finds she has a lot of dried pine needles to spare.  She expands this cleared area and then uses her poking stick to dig a small hole in the ground.  She then places a large, flat stone beside the hole and walks down to the river bank, where she begins to chip off clay from the bank.

Kamila reaches Ywazje River and in the same area finds a good amount of clay.  She travels upstream where there is no bog and surveys the area in the thicker forested area and hears a deer call.  She then finds flat ground and brings the nearest large, flat stone.

She clears an area on the ground and begins to chop away at a pine tree with a trunk as thick as her arm and about 7m tall.

Kamila looks around her surroundings and sees nearby berry bushes and a number of smaller trees bearing nuts in the thinly-wooded area.  The berry trees are out of season, and only the red berries are in season.

«Kamila Bogdana has discovered the Tegacha Berry^Ψ, Shendama Berry^Ψ, Enta Nut^Ψ, and the Pralil Nut^Ψ.»

Kamila first takes a single Tegacha Berry and smashes it between her fingers, seeing if it causes any irritation.  After a minute, seeing that no irritation has come, she puts it in her mouth, chewing it and swallowing.  After a minute, she finds it has done nothing bad, and commits the plants appearance to memory.

Next, she walks up to the Shendama bush and picks a single berry, and presses it between her fingers like the Tegacha and waits a minute.  Seeing that the berry has caused slight irritation, she throws the berry away and wipes her hand off on the nearest tree in dissatisfaction.  She also remembers this bush.

Then, she looks up into the trees where she sees the Enta pods.  She scours the ground and finds one that appears to be ripe and recently fallen.  She takes her axe and cracks the seed pod along the side and peels off the husk.  She then finds a rock and chips a very small piece off of it and rubs it against the back of her left hand, and finds that it produces minimal irritation on the skin.  Because of this, she regards the nut as possibly hazardous.  Perhaps she could leech them at some other time.

Finally, she scans the ground for a recently fallen ripe Pralil nut, and cracks it open, revealing an almond-sized nut.  She applies the same test to the Enta nuts, but it produces no irritation.  To much satisfaction, she finds the Pralil to be very oily.  She eats it and finds it has a somewhat piney taste and that it is good to eat.

She picks a number of the Tegacha berries and Pralil nuts and pops them in her mouth occasionally while walking ENE.  She finds a fallen branch from a tree and takes it with her, baring it with her axe, and pokes at the ground occasionally, looking for clay.

WHAT IS TRIBUTARY?

Tributary is an RP(G) where every person plays as their own character, competing or cooperating with other players at the end of the Stone Age and dawn of the Bronze Age and some millennia after an ice age.  A number of people have recently arrived at this island, an area lush with life.  Characters are permitted freely to create their own tribes and factions and settle down where they want, however, only if dangerous wildlife or hostile people allow you to.

TIME & WEATHER

Day 1, Early Spring

This mid spring morning, the snow in the valley has receded.  The skies are growing grey and the wind is picking up, blowing SSW.

3 irl day = 1 sim day, where the cycle is Morning, Afternoon, Night, and repeat.

2 irl weeks = 1 sim season

(Simulated days are mandated so that RP would not be over-accelerated, but seasons are kept moving so that it wouldn't take literally 6 months to change seasons.)

HOW DO YOU PLAY ?

3.	Survive.  Only time will tell what is the best method for doing this.  A tested and true method is generally "the more the merrier."

RULES

• Do not powergame, ass-pull or metagame.
• You can form tribes if you wish.  You may choose how you select the roles of players within a tribe.  Moderators are not permitted to intervene.
• Rules can be added or removed, and you will be notified when a change is made.
• Do not leave the map.  It will be RP'd that you die at sea if you do.
• If given the opportunity to name something, name it appropriately, please.  Do not name something after something in real life, such as "Americaland" or "Blocklanders."
• You can only play as a human.
• If you do not act as your player, your player will act as if idling about.  If you wish to go on a hiatus, you must have a tent pitched in a safe location and you must rest there, otherwise, use the stasis request system available here^{[To: UFS]}.  Note that in this game, I will not often accept stasis because it doesn't make very much sense in a game with an active timescale with emphasis on survival.
• Stasis must be requested in advance, and will not be retroactively applied.  Do not use stasis as a means to simply escape danger.
• If you go inactive, you will continue your current task for one time segment, then go idle.

THE SYSTEM

Death:     When you die, it's not permanent, but you will be put out of commission for 3 days irl.  After this time expires, you will respawn back at your tribe's main tent (if you are a part of a tribe that has one) or at a random point in the wilderness.
Character Conditions:     If your character has some kind of condition, such as bleeding, poisoning, sickness, etc., the conditions and the ailments will be described when the character takes on this condition.
Hunger & Thirst:     Over time, you will get hungrier and thirstier.  Be sure to keep feeding yourself.
Flora & Fauna:     The flora and fauna of this valley are not known yet.  As you discover things, you will learn how to identify things and find out what they do.
Political:     You as the player are free to create whatever system you want in the game.  Players may or may not agree with you, but that's the fun of it.  Create alliances, conduct trade, make enemies and go to war, all of this is up to the player to choose.
Culture:     In your societies, developing a culture may help to aid your group in solidifying it, as well as potentially manipulating the group's karma.
Reproduction:     Players can reproduce so long as you have a fertile female and a male.  Children will need to be raised and supported.  They will be treated as NPCs.

If anyone is interested, I am creating the Tributary map live.  I will be keeping it open for a while for suggestions.  Using Steam for communicating is faster than using Twitch's chat, since I can put the window off to the side.
