Guards have security cameras they can use to look around the prison for upcoming attacks however the cameras can be taken down by destroying the satellite dish on the roof.

At no point will we ever have a guard or bot patrolling the prison. We don't want prisoners to have to worry about being spawn killed or getting killed while collecting items.
