General Discussion / Re: Dino Hunt
« on: April 18, 2013, 11:47:39 AM »
I'd like to app for super admin if that'd be ok.

IGN: Reinforcements

Bl_ID: 23459

Rtb: I do, I usually just uninstall it so I crash less and because people message me when I'm trying to script stuff.

Why you should be an admin: I've been playing the game since v12 (since summer 2009), so it's been about 3 years now. I'm very mature and I understand a lot about administrating that I believe many do not. I understand that when someone is breaking a rule, sometimes they are just a young player that needs a little help following the rules. Half the time you find out that the "troublemaker" is just a confused player that needs to be reminded of the rules. For my deeper understanding and my goal to be a good person, I find myself very fit for the job.

Online times: I live in the Eastern Central Timezone, but I'm homeschooled so the time I can be on varies a lot.

Recommendations: I do not have any recommendations. However, I'm very confident that if you asked any of the nicer players from my past servers they'd say I was unique in the way I administrated. I very rarely swore and I really tried to do my best. Here are some of my past server topics. Note the lack of drama, unlike most server topics being administrated by other people.

Help / Re: Blockland Opens as Demo?

This happens to me all the time.

It looks like the key never saves, but I think it happens when it exits via forceshutdown or closing the console.
Use the quit button darn it :U

Guys calm your balls, he's using a private converter I created. I wish to someday release it if Badspot gives me permission to. (and I refine it to make it fit for release)
Wait, you know how to convert from obj to blb? Let me know when you're releasing this. I'd like to make a Mac port if that'd be ok with you. I tried messaging Badspot about getting source to do so, but he never replied.

Bushido, don't take this so seriously. It's not like it will actually get implemented. Nothing more than a comical speculation.

Could it be that your IP address changed and that blockland wants you to re-authenticate?

How did you make that brick :c
Probably in blender or milkshape.

So does that mean it won't be up tonight? Good luck revamping it. I look forward to playing it again!

General Discussion / Re: The best v21 argument I've seen.

Fine, I take back my point.

But the bottom line is Badspot will not bring back terrain.
You don't know that.
Probably because he has more time to do stuff since terrain was hard to code.
But what I'm saying is that he should be working on actual blockland updates, not add-ons. I mean, maybe he's sick of working on engine updates or something and wants a break. But ideally, he should work on things that the community can't (actual blockland engine update things)

It makes so much sense.
(InB4MapsAreNeverComingBackHat ersFloodTopic)

thats how it works with all features. the more you cut, the less you have to worry about. removing vehicles and their physics makes it easier to work with player physics. you can rewrite systems to make them easier to work with. i've seen so many cases where indie developers scrap their engine because it was all poorly patched together. but, of course, they remade it to be better than before by adding new features while keeping, yet improving, the original ones.

people are going to complain and justly so. thats what happens when you remove things people have gotten used to. the developers say "its going to increase update speed" but people have yet to see anything more than "official" add-ons. if people are going to be satisfied, they are going to want to see their old features back, or at least a way to compensate.

a vehicle physics update would be nice. if you've played my tdm, you see how stuffty tanks work with the bricks and how planes can fly through cubes, jeeps can drive through walls, and tanks get stuck on 1x height slopes. of course. a way to loop a "brick terrain" would be cool as well, that way even if we don't use the whole thing, the map doesn't just awkwardly end with steep cliffs or infinite space.

players would like to at least hear about features like this possibly being added in. it would be nice if we saw the "true power" of terrain/interiors being cut

I agree with the first bold statement because even though we got the shader update, most all that's been coming out are bug fixes and add-ons. We have an amazing modding community. The developers need to focus on things that the community cannot do. (Engine updates, actual game updates)

Well said sir. Removing terrain and not adding it back in is just kinda lazy.

sigg'd.
