Help / On Elevators and V16 Bugs

Okay. So, i browsed around the forums, and found stuff about...
JVS Elevators.
Now, it said this mod would probably be made and released after a bugfix in v9...
WELL, WHERE IS IT .-.
It's been 7 long versions, and there's still no (nice, polished, non-glass) elevators.

Has it been made, but made private?
Has it been released in hiding, in some obscene place that i would never think of?
Is it still WIP?
Did Trader just give the heck up?

Also...
I've had a strange glitch while hosting.
ALL players who join the server, EXCEPT FOR ME, get major lag spikes - so bad, it's about 15 seconds in between spikes. Now, when i join someone else's server, i should lag right? Well i don't .-.
Also, i have to host a dedicated, because when i try to host normally i get a runtime error mid-datablock-load. In the rare case that it doesn't do THAT, the load freezes at the end of Object Load, not even spawning me. I have to reset BL in that case.

Another glitch:
On some servers, when trying to join the load freezes before it starts, at 'Waiting for Server' the first time, then 'Loading Mission' all others. The players on the server, as i found, can hear me - but i see no chat updates. Playerlist is empty when there's like 4 people. I tried resetting BL, no.
Then...
I disabled RTB, and it let me join just liak dat.
So, i'm assuming this is a RTB glitch.

Wait a second...

How many events exactly are "too many events at once"? I get this message whenever I'm trying to do an event that effect many bricks. But how many bricks is that, exactly? How many bricks does it take before I'm trying to do "too many"?

Event Schedule limit isn't about how many events you have, global. There's no limit to that.
(There IS a limit that sets max events per brick, i think default is 50.)
The event schedule limit sets how many relays, delayed events, ETC. you can have running at the same time, i believe.

That should work by all means... however, here's a more well constructed version that you should try.

-BRICK NAME : 'timerBrickStart'
0 onActivate -> Self -> fireRelay
30000 onRelay -> NamedBrick timerBrickTwo -> fireRelay

-BRICK NAME : 'timerBrickTwo'
0 onRelay -> Self -> fireRelay
30000 onRelay -> NamedBrick timerBrickEnd -> fireRelay

-BRICK NAME : 'timerBrickEnd'
5000 onRelay -> namedBrick(timerBrickStart) -> fireRelay
0 onRelay -> minigame -> roundEnd(V)

OR, you could just set it up in minigame prefs and disable score adding for kills, deaths, ETC - and give Guards a point on spawn.

Pretty sure you can raise it in the server options.

I believe that's an add-on either lost in the archives or the depths of the forums. It makes server options in the Preferences tab, i think...

That could be made by an advanced scripter... but it would take a hell of a confusing code to make as far as I can tell...
You'd need:
-Something that can scan the playerlist
-Something that can scan each player found earlier for team
-Something to find the count of that team in the list
-Something to set the vehicle's team, for earlier
-Something to lock stuff and edit prefs
-And some minigame editing thingamajiggarz.

Are you in Fullscreen? (For you people who would flame me for saying this, 'clicking outside' for fullscreen is alt-tab. Just so you know that it's possible.)
If so, it takes a while for Blockland to re-render. Just wait, there's nothing to be done (besides switching to windowed - i did this eventually)

Otherwise, there's 5 possibilities.

1. Your computer is sh--ty and doesn't have enough RAM/other stuff. Go buy a new computer, like, NOW.
2. Background processes and other programs are cluttering up your computer's memory and stuff. Close some things, end some un-needed processes.
3. Blockland may have a problem with an add-on or a serious programming error caused by outdating/glitches. Go reinstall it, see if that helps. Then try disabling your Client add-ons and keep adding one at a time until you get the glitch.
4. Another program and Blockland are conflicting - try closing some major programs that may be doing this.
5. Your OS just might not be compatible with Blockland. If so, try another OS(Example, windows XP Pro works good for me) or just go play another game.

Someone answer already, it's been three days... Why is everyone so slow, lately?

Repost:

Whenever i try to host, the load works fine.
Then when i get to Object Load and it finishes, blockland suddenly freezes and won't spawn me. It never displays the achievement mod message, or spawn message.
Please help with this... (Yes, i tried only default add-ons including disabling client)
Golden Hawk also gets this error.
