It's really hard to choose between a (handheld) game system and a smartphone. You can't compare them well.
If you want a phone that can play some decent games that isn't 3D, but has a weak battery when it comes to games, get the phone.
If you'd rather stick with only games with much better graphics, headache inducing a 3D gimmick, actual loving buttons, and Pokemon, get the 3DS. In the end, it's up to you.
