"In God we trust" is a violation of the First amendment, because the Government may not do anything at all related to religion, and therefore using the word God in our motto is a terrible idea
It doesn't violate freedom of speech or religion?

You're still free to support whatever religion you like.
Just because the 1st ammendment supports freedom of religion people assume all mottos must be non-specific.

I like how Tony is the only one who enjoys showing his opinion despite what others may say.
Suck it up.
No.

He's being a complete handicap 24/7 and I don't see how anyone supports him anymore.

i dont get it, i just refer to it as god and you are trying to contradict me, all main religions that are in the USA are polytheistic.
and if you dont believe that let me elaborate for you:

Judaism: One god
Islam: One god
Hinduism: Has one god that takes many forms over reincarnation. even hindus say they are polytheistic.
Buddhism: direct descendent of Hinduism with the same gods.

all thats left is Ethnic religions, but all religions have a god, so the "in god we trust" motto can refer to anyone to them.

you guys really dont know what you are talking about
Did you really say all the key religions in America are POLYTHEISTIC?

i personally think they should put more thought to how well our money works, not what text is on it  :cookieMonster:
We should switch to the Amero.

5889
are you handicapped?
:I

Pretty sure there's more than one religion here.

5890
how? america's main idea was to have alot of diverse population, and for everyone to be able to practice their religion.
removing the motto makes it seem like everyone in the country is athiest, when it isnt.
Um...

I hope you know not everyone here worships God, or is an Atheist.

5891
I think the new motto should be Non Sibi Sed Alis, man.

It completely contradicts the modern day morals of the government.

5892
Soon it'll be removed from the pledge and everything. I can see it happening
It probably won't happen.

This country was founded on religion. Replacing the saying is just taking away what this whole country is about.
Religious dominance did this, not the founding fathers.

Although it wouldn't really matter to anyone who used money for its intended purpose and not gawking at a few words in small print.

Buddhists are Atheists!
Which is why I thought he was being rebellious for no reason.

And then he goes out on a limb to be one of those Atheists who pretend like they aren't annoyed about religion.

he must have been a theistic buddhist then?
most buddhists are already atheists. buddhism itself isn't a theistic religion
I don't want to ask him about his religion, but I think his parents did pray or something.

He's Chinese. His parents own a resturaunt.
