The gba slot is one of the important parts for me on the ds.

Yeah I got a dsi because I didn't need the gba slot, I have a gameboy micro and sp.

I sold my ds lite for a dsi, only thing I don't like is that I'll have to buy a new flash card and gamestop wouldn't buy my ds browser :P

The r4 isn't updated anymore, thats about the only con.  I have that and a Supercard DSone.  The supercard is nice but its a lot slower at loading games than the r4.  I've also made a couple themes for the r4 if you're interested. http://www.ndsthemes.com/browse/themes/f50e964fd4/1

Edit: and I only use it for homebrew games ;)

Maybe people don't know about it but this beta blender exporter is a lot easier to use than the default one, no empties required.  There are even a few tutorials on the site explaining how to use it.

Does experience in modeling help with this?

Maybe a little, but I think you're more inclined toward this sort of thing if you like 3d modeling anyway.

It could, but, in this case, it would be easier since you're physically touching it.

And working with clay is harder than it looks.  I think 3d modeling on a computer is a lot easier, at least to make something look decent.

You know nothing about 3D art. Real life physics is hard D:

Also very neat Kaje :D

Yes, much harder than artificial physics.  And thanks :D

Edit: Also there is no undo button in real life, I would have given up a long time ago if I couldn't undo in a 3d modeling program :P

Nice work Jake, you should make your companion cube out of clay if ya can.

Haha, thats actually a good idea...

It was terribly fragile when finished though.

I would imagine so, luckily I have a kiln to fire my pottery in :D

It looks nice, though the arms are not symmetrical.

Yeah I know, just messing around mostly.

So I was bored and decided to make a minifig tile out of clay, I worked from memory and didn't let the clay harden enough first but here's the result.

I plan to make some improvements on the design and make more in the future, at least until my pottery wheel (http://www.bigceramicstore.com/Supplies/wheels/PotteryWheelStandard.htm#ShimpoRKWhisper) arrives next week.  I'll post any other clay related things I make here later on.

Edit:

here it is completely dry, I was able to clean it up a little bit but I just need to do better from the start next time.

Edit 2:

and another failure :( I was watching a movie and forgot I had let my slabs out to dry a little, now I'll have to start over on my companion cube.  It's too dry to properly attach the parts now.  Maybe I'll wet it and stick it in a bag overnight and hope for the best.

Edit 3: June 15, 2009

Got my wheel today :D Here are the first few pots I made, the first one didn't make it past the splash pan :P

going to make this one into a coffee mug

Edit 4: June 22, 2009

Been keeping busy, takes a lot of practice to make anything worth keeping.
