You should be able to get much better for $8500.

You can get a lot for 8500 but diesels always have a high resale value because they run forever. In my area that price would be pretty spot on. It looks clean. I guess if you want a diesel that doesn't look like anything special but doesn't look bad either.

Nice "car"

Nice "post". Didn't really help the thread much, either.

Funny you mention your EGR valve as mine I think is having issues as well on my Malibu. It used to go on super intermittently, the check engine light would. It would come on during one of my delivery shifts and would stay on for the night but would be off in the morning. Would be on before I got gas and turn off ten minutes later. Then it went a week and a half where it didn't turn on, came on for a drive, and then it's been off ever since.

It made my car run kinda weird. It would sputter a bit when giving her enough gas to maintain speed, particularly at highway speeds, much less noticeable with city driving. I got a quote to get it replaced at my work and it was like $215 or so. But it's been running like nothings wrong lately and I haven't seen the light in a while.

Kinda weird.

Tried a new wax today. I'm pleased.

I hate black cars in the summer

Also trying to keep black cars clean lol.

Where do you live, Zloff? I haven't seen a Celica like that in my area in years lol. We have one RSX roaming around that I've actually driven since I'm a lube tech, and at 160k it still seemed pretty nice. I'd probably steer away from a Cobalt but to each their own. They seem to be pieces of stuff from my experiences, but I've only ever dealt with the little Ecotec motors in them which are stuffty imo to begin with.

But yeah, RSXs are cool.

Yeah they'll probably also be the first things I replace after it passes inspection. It'd suck if they rusted through and I didn't notice  :cookieMonster:

Yeah I live in Minnesota where we salt the forget out of our roads and this happened to my Intrigue. I noticed a few drips on the ground under it a few different times and finally had it looked at and my brake lines were so rusty they were just seeping. By the time I got it to the shop I had almost no pressure at the pedal, she was going down to the floor at every stop sign.

Brake lines suck to replace. I would definitely have someone else do that lol.

I've never lived in a state with inspections so I couldn't say. Do you live in a state where it snows, XR7? Coil could've rusted in half.

Also need more cool pix of people's cars.

It's a Buick, if you can find one that doesn't ride nice I'll be impressed lol. I don't think tie rod ends usually thump, maybe struts. Tie rod end is cheaper and easier to replace and check if it's bad though. Those are a dime a dozen around here. Ugly cars but they're nice to drive.

Check engine light came on in my Malibu. Did some research and it's most likely the EGR valve is having issues. Just over $200 to fix. Occasionally makes the car run funny, most likely causing it to misfire occasionally. Not sure when to stop putting money into this car if ever. I've put so much in it now and it's such a reliable well maintained beater which I'll be needing for a 50 mile round trip school commute the next few years. So far I've replaced...

4 new tires (Toyota Extensas)
Gotten 4 snow tires for winters (Firestone Winterforces)
New struts at all four corners
New control arms with ball joints and bushings
Replaced rusty noisy muffler
New fuel filter
New valve cover gaskets
New head gaskets
Transmission lines twice
Transmission flush + filter
Oil pan gasket
Water pump
New front pads and rotor and brake fluid flush
Millions of alignments
Outer tie rod end
One wheel bearing
New battery
New alternator
New injector rings
New serpentine belt
New window switch on drivers door

Probably more but who knows. I also want to redo carpet at some point. Maybe.

She's a winter beater and a delivery car so she has a rough life. She's at 185k now.

Jesus christ is makes me sick reading comments on Facebook posts by people with large fanbases. It's disgusting to hear them bitch about how wrong it is, how scared they are what our country will look like in 25 years if we keep going this way, about how this is Satan's plan and God's plan isn't going well. loving morons.

I can respect people's religions, race, loveual orientation, gender. I don't get why others can't. I'm straight and I find it absolutely annoying. I just feel like Jesus lovers get more and more brainwashed with every trip to church.

I guess a year of Revit class wasn't totally useless.
