I've always wanted to try a clay bar on my Malibu but I can't even find time to finish waxing the Dart, let alone my other stuffty car.

So what are my chances of getting someone to help walk me through getting a good gaming desktop? I'd be willing to buy parts and take them to one of the computer shops in my area and have them build it but I'm not one to try and build it myself seeing as how it won't be cheap. I don't know anything about part compatibility, or what really will help me get the best bang for my buck in the areas that count. I want a computer where I can buy a game and not even look at the system requirements and still be able to run it on high or highest settings. Between running Steam games, I also use a lot of school programs (namely AutoCAD and Revit) where a quick computer would be nice. Wouldn't mind getting into video editing down the road. I don't want to spend any more than around $1000.

Anybody willing to help me out? Or is my best bet to just go talk to a computer shop about this?

Thought the title said Nameless floating pizza.

I did too lol.

I really like the build though.

wouldn't that be a diagnostic tool?

I guess of sorts but I tool is something that you would plug in and pull codes with. I'm looking for one that displays just real time information that I can mount on my dash or something and leave it there as most tools are not meant for that sort of usage. I'm finding I want something like a Bully Dog display but those are more expensive than I thought they would be.

EDIT: They're all expensive, nevermind.

Does anybody know where I can find one of those weird little digital displays that plugs into my OBD port and displays computer information, like trans fluid temp, coolant temp, all that fun stuff? I keep trying Googling and Amazoning it and keep just getting diagnostic tools.

I feel you, Destroyer. My control arm bushings were getting stuffty and instead of going through all the work of replacing just the bushings I bought whole new control arms that came with bushings, ball joints and obviously the control arm itself. It rides sooo much nicer.

Honestly cars like that are fun to me too. Small, nimble, and cheap. I was looking at trading my Malibu in for a 2006 Aveo with a 1.6. Seemed like a pretty nice car, especially for it's price point.

Do you guys wax your cars? If yes how long does it take you. I feel like I take loving forever to get mine done.

Is that the car's asking price or the repair cost? If that's for the whole car, that's a great deal.

That's the repair. Not sure if that's just parts or parts and labor. The car's KBB value is roughly $4800, unmodded obviously but in excellent condition from a private party.

that's really cool but

1) That has no insulation. Better live in a place with warm temperatures.
2) Wouldn't carbon monoxide be a problem?

It looks like face brick, meaning the wall probably has more composition than just one layer of brick. It could potentially have some insulation on the other side of the brick, if not more brick in addition to, as you said, a mild climate. And I personally wouldn't just sit in my house with my vehicle running lol. We have cars running all the time at the shop I work at with the garages closed, no problem. And honestly if it's even remotely nice outside I'm the kind of person that will open every motherloving window on that motherforgeter.

My boss keeps trying to sell me his ~1995 Dodge Stealth he bought a while back. It needs some work (main things he said is the computer needs to be replaced/reprogrammed, $800-$900) and it needs a tune. The thing is sick and mindblowingly quick, it's got tons and tons of mods. Aftermarket clutch, bucket seats, intercooler, two piece wheels, all sorts of stuff on top of being AWD, AWS with a manual. It's in fantastic shape. It'd be sweet to have if I could think of a place I could park it and if he doesn't want an insane amount for it.

I guess my main concern here is that car is a legitimate racing car. You could do drags and street races and stuff with it. I guess that scene is something I don't know a single thing about.

Except for when somebody is downstairs with the angle grinder and you're trying to read a book or sleep.

I don't live with anyone now lol.
