Add-Ons / Re: A new crossHair
« on: May 04, 2010, 03:26:25 PM »
The game auto resizes crosshairs.
no no, its that the the second one wasnt correctly sized, it was that there was a directly centered pixel, so it wasnt a perfect circle, so i edited it to be a perfect circle :/

it's all working, i set up the controls for everything, and im all set
the only issue i have now, is the only items i get are lowstim's, hammers, 30cal ammo, and 11mm ammo...
And also, there's nothing in the shop menu, and idk if im doing something wrong or not, but all i know is the shop is empty.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Customizeable weapons (Suggestion)
« on: May 01, 2010, 05:51:23 PM »
Impossible, it must be scripted ingame.  If someone spawns that new weapon ingame, then the server would crash.  Good Idea, but inmossible.
Well, As i said (Two times now... third time this time) im not good with scripting, i dont know how things will work out, and i dont know what's possible, so to me, the sky is the limit, but, the way i would see this mod as working is, it goes off of a base weapon, and just changes the look, damage, (and for ranged, accuracy/spread), so the mod wouldnt actually be creating a whole new weapon, it would be just modifying one to act differently depending on what is put into it, And to use it it just has a generic CI for it so it can sit in your inventory without looking weird.
Just a suggestion/idea, i dont know if it is possible or not, so no one (from now on) say "It's impossible, blah blah blah" (No offense swat) because i honestly don't know whether or not what is possible or impossible, and regardless whether or not you think (or "know") it truly is impossible, the people of BL can improvise to make it possible :)

And the weapon would be something that you would have to get straight from the mod, not spawn it from a brick.

Suggestions & Requests / Customizeable weapons (Suggestion)
« on: May 01, 2010, 05:37:48 PM »
I cannot do this because honestly i'm clueless when it comes to modeling and scripting, but my suggestion is that, someone (anyone) should make a (Somewhat-big) Pack of parts of (real or imaginary) gun/weapon parts, like handles and blades, hilts and guards of swords/melee weapons, and grips, foregrips, lights, sights, stocks, colors, etc... of gun models and make it all in one pack and you can collect parts and interchange them on a weapon, and even name/save your created weapons to the server, and to make customization easier, include a GUI to help with it, and have the GUI give a preview of how your weapon will look.

Now as i said before, dont count on me to make this because i said i'm completley clueless when it comes to scripting or modeling, but anyone that feels like taking up the challenge can do this, and just to keep this post alive, why not post pictures of cool parts or whole weapons you'd would love to interchange with one another.

Even if this never becomes a reality, isn't still a nice thought?

Summary:
Customizable Weapons,
Melee:Blade, Handle, Hilt, Guard, Color, Hammer Head, Axe Head, Point
Ranged: String, Bow, Thrown, Shot, Ammunition, Body, Stock, Sight, Etc. atatchments (Laser pointer, Flashlight, foregrip, etc.), Barrel, Grip/handle, Clip, Strap

If you have any other idea's as to what you could add to this, Please, I encourage you to.

I must know, what exactly do we have to do to get it working (I havent DLed uet because i want to know how to work it first), i beleive you said something about renaming and placing in certain folders, is it you just rename it and put it in the Add-ons folder? or is it more than that?

You didn't answer my question.
You didn't answer tez's question either, he asked for you to PROVE he stole it, yet you haven't given us any pictures, links, or any actual information on Where he "Stole" this model from, And before you go quoting me asking what my business is in this argument, my business is that Tez is my friend, and I assume he doesn't NEED my help in his arguments, but friends stand up for other friends. (Regardless whether or not we know each other in real life or not)

By the way, Nicely Made Model Tezuni :D i'm downloading it right after i'm done posting this

Modeling:

Blender - Free, but complex to use at first glance
Milkshape 3D - User friendly, but costs money

(There are many more great programs out there, but I suggest one of these)

Scripting:

Notepad - If you're not on a computer running Windows then just use any text editor

Making decals / textures

paint.net - (google it) free and simple to use, similar to Photoshop
Photoshop CS3/4 - costs money but it's a very nice program
Adobe Illustrator - costs money, used for creating vector (geometrical) art

I hope I could help.

Got any scripting tutorials? because i haven't the slightest idea how to script. All i can do with scripts is edit a few lines here and there to make them behave a bit differently than its original programming.

This may sound like a stupid question, but, what modeling software is anyone using, and is it free?

Because if it is free, I may be able to help with your straggling models that haven't been snatched up recently.

Just so you know i have no skill in this so don't expect the most fantastic thing you ever seen upon your presence, and don't rely on me either, not only am i a bad procrastinator, I've just never been that great with computer things like this.
and all i would be able to do is modeling, no scripts or re-loading actions i'm afraid.

i'M SORRY I CANT HELP BUT ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS......HURRY UP! I WANT ALL THESE WEPS!!! THEY LOOK AWSOME!
How can you see these weapons that aren't even posted yet? (Besides the ones posting in the comments by all the modelers and even still not all of the models were post, or at least not that i know of, i read to about the 7th page and there were so many comments i couldn't read them all, and honestly most of my amusement came from mtndew and chasey arguing, even though i support mtndew more than chasey, in fact i would drop chasey like a burning chunk of metal.)... got a little off topic there, and im not posting this to be rude to this guy, it's and honest question O.o

That's ironic coming from you, just because, I tell my opinion and point out flaws with models doesn't mean I'm an starfish.
Ah!
You say you are just trying to point out flaws correct?
Well the way you "point out" these flaws seems very... In your face.
they way YOU point out flaws isnt just "Oh i dont really likes this model because the barrel looks funny" or "Its to detailed enough" no, they way YOU do it its "Oh these models suck and pandan is a handicap who should be killed for his stuffty modeling because his "Style" doesnt fit my liking and im the only one who hates pandans guts and im so cool blah blah blah" and thats being an ass about it. So until you mature a bit more, keep playing with your mega-blocks.

Add-Ons / Re: Ziyek's Crosshair
« on: April 06, 2010, 03:32:59 PM »
No. There's way too many cross-hairs in the add-on section that we don't need.
Ah, you say there are Too many cross-hairs in the add-ons section we don't need? what about add-ons we don't need?... as a matter a fact, I basically just repeated you since add-ons include cross-hairs, and you say "We" don't need them, but you're just thinking for yourself, alot of people want cross-hairs just as much as you want them gone.
I know I like cross-hairs and by saying "There's way too many cross-hairs in the add-on section that we don't need." you're speaking for quite a few people are you not? as a matter a fact, you basically speaking for everyone on the add-ons section.
And ,correct me if i'm wrong, a Good portion of people want cross-hairs.
I know, I know... Some cross-hairs Truly ARE bad and don't belong, but can you HONESTLY say that every last one of them sucks and deserves to be fail-binned?
(I KNOW you are about to comment saying that your "Honestly" think that, and thatyou think i'm wrong and blah blah blah whine whine..., but you and I both know you truly don't and for all we know, you could be using cross-hairs as well.)
Anyways This bores me now, i'm going to watch youtube now...
