mctwist, the point was to buy a machine that is upgrade-able and lasts for at least 4-5 years before having a need to upgrade it again. It's decently built, but the graphics card (same as mine) is still a glorified Geforce 9800 GT so it's not the top-of-the-line (The card costs around 120 dollars). I do however, like the power efficiency, mobo, and the CPU.

Read the OP, I have a GTX 480 coming in the mail.

wowww

whered you get the money to buy that thing?

Whored myself out to fat chicks.

You sure got your license early, considering you're only a sophomore in high school.

Buying a very, very, expensive motherboard is not a very good idea. Seeing as something like 2 new sockets are released each year and RAM is upgraded every few years.

I'll have to join your team when I finally get my damn motherboard (fu DOA).

That's why I didn't get one of those fancy-schmancy ROG endorsed mobos.

I'll probably fold on Rex's team for a while.  I should be upgrading to an i7-980x in a matter of months, but only if I don't have to pay full price.

The watercooling is the expensive part.  To get a case that fits everything you have to pay quite a bit.  Not to mention the imported German sleeving.

First, the CPU is overclocked.
Secondly, the CPU have only 4 cores, but i7 makes one core do two things at the same time.

Otherwise, this is a good build. Few can beat it up... The next 5 years...

First, hurr?
Second, sort of.

I'd like to know what the otherwise is for.  What's wrong with it?

I love the headset, I have one too.

And for the monitor, what resolution?

I love this headset, blocks out all noise.  The monitor runs at 1920x1080, so I can watch blu-rays in full HD.

Total cost if you don't mind me asking?

A lot.  I'll add it up tomorrow, but I would estimate around $4000.

It looks like a rave party in your computer.

Add some flashing lights triggered by a switch lol.

I actually was going to put green and white LEDs in it, so you could turn off the green and turn on the white when you wanted to see inside.  Alas, there isn't any place to put them.
