oh yeah, i forgot about the menus in my rant yesterday

you know how in legend of zelda on the n64 how you pause and use the shoulder buttons and stuff to change the screen of the menu to map and stuff? yeah, they did that here, except it's tab. just tab. so once you pick up your first cosmetic item and the map tool, you have 3 menus to toggle through. they were afraid of adding extra keybinds or something, so they didn't add a map keybind (like in metroid? which this game is also trying to emulate)

yes, the only reason i say get this game is because it's 100% free. do not buy it, it isn't worth 0.99c. it's not hard, it's just punishing for no reason.

200mb download for me on windows 64bit. should be similar. don't know about install size.
this game is dumb

it's a 2d platformer where you play as a "clone" in a facility that makes and studies these clones like test subjects. you'll frequently come across other clones in sort of cryogenic tanks, and you'll frequently beat some of the test chambers with the assistance of ai controlled clones. you're guided by a sadistic human who just wants to get the high score in testing.

sound familiar? like portal? yeah. except there's no portals oh wait no there is. stuffty portals, which you can't move - teleporters, really. there's lots of buttons on the walls, and little cleaner bots on the floors, both of which you cannot interact with and do not do anything useful. there are "stealth" mechanics in the game, which amount to "visible" and "not visible" (with complete invisibility in darkness?) and what i affectionately refer to as "bullstuff sensors" which detect you if you're in their radius, regardless of if you're moving or not. laser turrets have about 3 ranges - visible range, bullstuff sensor range, and "instant gib" range. visible range shows clear indications of the weapon locking onto you, bullstuff sensor is just a tad longer than visible range, and instant gib is exactly as it says on the tin. don't fall! after a dozen or so levels, they add in sort of pressure sensitive blocks, which blow up if you hit them too fast. i guess. they didn't blow up when i thought they would, and blew up when i thought they wouldn't.

okay, whatever, that's the plot and the theme, no big deal, right? except the level design is designed by sadistic forgeters. right at the start of the game they tell you flat out that you need to "keep your reflexes up". the meaning of this isn't made clear until literally the next couple loving scenes, where they throw offscreen stuff at you and you have to dodge it or die, like a quicktime event with less than a quarter of second to push the button. there's no lives fortunately, only deaths, and checkpoints are just a little less ubiquitous than in super meat boy, so it isn't really punishing to die, but you still have to die because of straight up bonafide bullstuff. regularly. stuff offscreen will regularly come at you and crush you. seriously, this happened in 6/10 levels i played! what the forget! IT LITERALLY HAPPENS IN THE FIRST OFFICIAL "TEST CHAMBER." Like no loving joke! You're there, you've "hacked the terminal" and the door is off to your left. roughly 100ms after you hack the terminal and the door opens, a loving laser appears just to the left of the terminal, and slices you in two because you've already started to move toward the door. it's punishing you for being a normal person! not like loving antichamber which tries to reprogram you out of your thoughts on how a game 'should be' but straight up loving punishing you!

another of the mechanics, steam, (steam, not smoke) makes it so visual enemies (with fairly clear visual fields, thank god) can't see you if there's even the slightest speck of steam is within their field of view. this is fortunate because you'll be hell loving bent to get this loving steam to get into their loving fields of vision without it loving fading out of the way.

to top it all off, the test chambers have a loving grading system for how well you did. you know, like the stars in angry birds? just a standard alphabetical grade - a -> b -> c -> d, etc. except that holy stuff is it hard to get grades above c! i'm not that bad at platformers, but you lose a whole letter for dying once (remember the offscreen bullstuff?) and several letters for taking too long in the level! your ninja clone (basically shorter, more humanoid minions) runs at the speed of a minion on pure thc, (that is to say, slower than molasses in a russian winter) jumping is slow, and climbing ledges feels like i'm fat as stuff and not like a loving ninja leaping around. fits with the character model, at least, i guess.

oh, and it has loving cosmetic items which you get from breifcases. i don't loving know why, since you can't play multiplayer or anything.

it's not a steam key either, it's one of those weird limbo games that you have to manually add to steam. not a big deal, but more like one square inch of missing icing on the offscreen bullstuff filled cake.

the bottom line? right here:

stealth inc. 2 is stealth done wrong, go play something better like mark of the ninja. go ahead and download it, but only because it's 100% free, but if it feels like you're not really enjoying it, don't feel bad about stopping playing.

my brother ranked up to rank 4 within a week. i ranked up to rank 2 within two weeks.
different ranks
the ranks you're referring to are this new thing valve added which basically boils down to "xp" and stuff and is basically useless, and has no bearing on the game
the ranks gojira is talking about are matchmaking ranks, which uses valves sort-of proprietary ranking system (like elo with league of legends). it has an effect on who you're matched with when you play competitive. you need to win 10 competitive games to get your matchmaking rank.

You can use a tagged string to reduce the amount of data that must be sent every time.
never understood exactly how these work to use these
examples? mods that use them properly?

does anyone else get a problem in CS where they get really bad lag "stutters"?
like, ill be walking around find, but then ill stutter and i wont be able to get thru a doorway or a guy will teleport in front of me, or ill turn a corner and nobody will be there and i'll die. my friends spectating me tell me it looks like im lag switching, but obvious im not. my ping seems to stay pretty stable when it's happening too, even lower than average (20~ ping)
what is your framerate doing when you have this problem?

longest distance is obviously a 45 degree angle, like literally everything else in physics

then you can make it longer with height differentials

wtf greek i could've sworn i told you that you fix this issue with xvfb-run -a

because rationally

malicious programs must write their code to the console

otherwise it is not a real malicious program

also don't allow superadmins to use this

that literally turns nearly any means of writing arbitrary files to the server into a potential script injection point - just write code to the file, then exec said file
it doesn't have to be an add-on

yeah, it could be useful, but no, don't do it
