Drama / Re: BANNED FROM GLASSES SERVER BECUASE HE THINKS IM TOMTOM
« on: August 24, 2012, 05:05:29 PM »
It's funny how tomtom accuses glass of changing the subject to tomtom's backdoors....... but tomtom is changing the subject away from them back to how there is no proof.

in fact, he's completely missing obvious defenses in order to do so:
Tomtom could use ally's account to backdoor glasses server.
To me, thats a VERY good reason.
If TomTom actually would do this, he's a friend and I've lost all respect for him.
this is not possible unless ally's bl_id had eval. tomtom undoubtedly knows this and will agree profusely with me. however, this is not the point that tomtom points out. what does he point out?
Oh look, this random garbage again. I've already explained how glass has no proof at all of a backdoor.

Basilcy what your saying, "oh no somebody can connect to a public server. MUST BE BACKDOORING!!"
disregarding the fact that the statement is simply impossible, he argues more generically.

i'm seeing right through this tomtom. I too wish for glass to provide evidence, but you are really doing a poor job defending yourself.

the first one could be evented to cause the flood to rise overnight/during the day then fall back down otherwise.

bluchat system now uses client-sided code to store usernames

this means you can still use it once your ip changes

it updates the stored data when you join the server so yeah

great job trolling us hero

fyi this is for admins not normal players

does anyone think i should make the usernames work via cookies
pro: usernames persist better and don't require joining the server to reauthenticate
major con: you can /very easily/ forget with cookies or other local storage to spoof being someone else.

3578
Uh.

Has anyone ropeplayed doing someone else?
[lol'd]
oh yeah, a bunch of times.

anyway, i made the chatterbox/bluchat store your authentication

so now you don't have to reenter the sekrit paesswerd every time you open the page and can just go deleting on your merry way

probably

I don't think I'm active enough for my say to really matter at this point but it would've been nice to have been notified directly of this.

Also I would've been able to fix bot events if I knew what was wrong with it (protip: RTB has a bug reports section, I just checked it and there were 0 helpful reports) but I guess it was so inherently flawed that starting from scratch was necessary and I can't end this sentence with a question mark because it comes off as accusatory.

Anyway I can help with this. Bug the craftsmen on steam or nothing will ever happen
... got repositories are public. Feel free to contribute.

exactly
i vote we leave them

the current bot events could be used on normal players too, albeit sketchily.

i think.

Modification Help / Re: calling parent twice?
« on: August 23, 2012, 06:38:05 PM »
oh duh - it calls the parent once and defines a variable with the result, but after that you have to return the result - not calling the parent again

silly me

Modification Help / calling parent twice?
« on: August 23, 2012, 04:59:45 PM »
i've seen it numerous times, but only today just realized it was calling the parent twice:
Code: [Select]
package blah
{
function derp()
{
%parent = parent::derp();
//code here
return %parent;
}
};
activatepackage(blah);

seriously - why would you call the parent twice? i don't get it. what purpose would this serve?

grah
use titanpad then
forget no
i will never use titanpad for motherloving anything in my life
much less this

try following an all out guide on git on windows...
also,
main three requirements:
  • know how to use git repositories - if you have to learn and/or you're new to it, that's ok just as long as we don't have to hold your hand, as that will slow the undoubtedly slow process down more, also because i'm not good enough at them yet to guide you
i'm glad you're so enthusiastic about helping, but seriously mold, just find a simple guide and follow it - git isn't hard.
