Can't you just switch to bitbucket this is getting too complicated
there is literally no difference between the two
they are both git repositories

do what you do at bitbucket, over in github

solution: download putty
google that too

or you could try following an all out guide on git on windows...

guys - i made the oldEvents folder for the old events

the newEvents folder shouldn't exist, and the new events should be in the root directory

Git Extensions is probably the best Windows client. For Mac SourceTree (ironically made by GH's main competitor) is supposed to be good.
try looking that up

Git ships with a GUI called "gitk" (or just git gui) which is terrible and nonsensical. Don't bother trying to use it.
never used it because linux leol
Well then how do i make new files and stuff like that without it?
use your command prompt
winkey+r "cmd"
use cd to change directory
use git add to add files
git commit -a -m "message"
git push

Yeah i did that from the web, but i recently downloaded the actual application and it's just terrible. It's 2012, they have their app set up like its 1990. Just make a new file for me and ill add the code. I'll probably need teamviewer assistance to set up the actual application correctly, maybe not though.
what app
git is a tool that runs in a CLI

blame the makers of the stuffty third party gui, not git
