For $2? that's basically what Gamestop offers... for anything...

I got 70 dollars for turning in a handfull of used gameboy games.  Plus I sold my old ds and got 40 bucks.

You should put up fliers, especially where you found it. If a person comes calling for it, they should have to answer some questions to prove it's theirs. In this case, what name was on it or the birthday on it.
Of course, you've removed the stickers now, but you should still try to get it back to its owner.
You'd be really annoyed if you'd lost an expensive item and no-one returned it to you, and you'd be really happy if you lost an item and someone returned it to you.

I like this idea.  I'd be an hero.

I was walking my dog and noticed something blue.  I picked it up and to my awe it was a crappy, sticker-covered, blue and black DS Lite.  I turned it on and the name is Karl, whose birthday is September 19th.  Anyway, I am rubbing off all of the stickers and cleaning it.  Looks good so far.
