Help / Starting a server

hello
For some reason, I cannot start a server. Whenever I do this, it takes me to the loading screen. Then it starts to lag.
The loading bar goes at an unreasonably slow pace, and my cursor lags around too. This does not happen upon joining someone else's server. Help?

Probably when I had a huge report to do, which involved putting it up on projector. Little did I know, one of my friends edited it while I was away and left it up. When I got to the page he edited, in large red words was 'THE GAME'. And i'm not trying to get anyone on this, it happened. I ended up going to the office. It was embarrassing, but loving hilarious.
