Forum Games / BRUTALITY (Prologue Completed)
« on: July 16, 2017, 07:08:23 PM »
BRUTALITY
This is an interactive adventure taking place in the same universe as the original BLOODLUST, but with a different protagonist: A merciless, bloodthirsty psychopath known as the Venturon City Slasher, who was briefly mentioned in the original BLOODLUST as the "Venturon Slasher".

The BLOODLUST meter is similar to a Sanity Meter.
0-24% Bloodlust: Inconspicuous. Your true nature is hidden, and you seem like an average person. Kills are quick and efficient.
Quick Kills are, as the name implies, quick. You will perform these kills by default at under 50% bloodlust unless you say so, and they become unavailable after hitting 50% bloodlust or higher.

25-49% Bloodlust: Unnerving. Kills are still swift and efficient. You are subtly unsettling.

50-74% Bloodlust: Suspicious. Kills become violent and less merciful as your facade cracks slightly. You are visibly shaken, and appear suspicious. Others will be wary of you, and start paying more attention.
Violent Kills are sloppy and not as quick. These kills are performed by default after bloodlust reaches 50%, and you lose the ability to perform them after bloodlust hits 75% or higher.

75-99% Bloodlust: Terrifying. Kills are brutal and sadistic. You appear limp and livid as you struggle to maintain your masquerade. Others will give you a wide berth.
Brutal Kills are focused on inflicting as much pain as possible on the victim before they finally expire, and leave you the most vulnerable. These are the only kills you can perform at 75% bloodlust or higher.

100% Bloodlust: LET ER RIP! You completely lose all semblance of sanity and stop struggling to hide your true colors, sporting a psychotic grin with a mouth full of teeth to go along with it. Everyone else you encounter will become hostile or flee for their lives in terror.

Violent actions being committed or witnessed will increase your bloodlust. Bloodlust is normally decreased over time or by performing calming actions.

PROLOGUE: HOSPITAL ESCAPE

Your adventure begins on a dark, ominous night. Most of your life so far has been spent inside this hospital. You yearn to be free from this dark and decrepit hellhole, and you've had enough of the doctors trying to "fix" you. There's nothing wrong with you, damn it. They won't listen. They never will. You've got to get the hell out of here before they finish brainwashing you. Countless escape attempts made by you have been foiled. Should you even bother trying? You've never been able to escape.

That all changes tonight. As you sit in your room pondering, chaos suddenly erupts. There is yelling, screaming, and sounds of a violent scuffle. The other patients are rioting! You listen closely and hear several doctors and guards being overpowered as they desperately try to fend off the other patients. Gunshots echo in the halls, men gurgle as their throats are slit, and flesh is violently torn off, accompanied by howls of agony. The sounds of violence surround you, and you desperately wish to join in on the action.

Listening to people dying outside: +5 Bloodlust.

Suddenly, the door to your cell opens. You see a shadowy figure staring at you... And the figure has a shard of glass in its hands.

"Big bones! Big, big bones! There's a good boy. There's a goood booy. There's a goooood booooy..."

This is a problem that frequently occurs whenever I play any server for an extended period (about half an hour to an hour?) of time, such as Pit of 100 Trials. After a while, I just lose connection to the server. Console.log attached, although I'm not sure what good it will even do.

Suggestions & Requests / Optiwand and Battering Ram props
« on: May 29, 2017, 11:19:18 AM »

They don't need to be functional because the player only needs to hold them and pose for screenshots. Need these two props for a thread in Forum Games. The battering ram could also use some hands, since the default way a Blockhead holds items would be awkward with it.

Suggestions & Requests / Working crouch event for bots
« on: April 16, 2017, 04:05:30 PM »

Playgesture > Mov_crouch does not work at all. The bot crouches for maybe half a second before going back to standing up again. Could someone do a mov_crouch event that actually makes the bot crouch constantly?

I can't simply do OnBotTouch > Bot > PlayGesture > Mov_Crouch unless I want a bot floating on top of an invisible Hole brick with collision enabled. Workarounds like applying OnBotTouch > Bot > PlayGesture > Mov_Crouch to the brick under the Hole brick won't do, either. Then every other bot that touches the brick would start crouching, too.

Help / Server browser only lists a single server
« on: December 23, 2016, 11:16:44 AM »

Using the non-steam version of BL that I haven't touched in a long time, since Steam is down right now. The server browser only displays a single server.

It can't possibly be that only one server is being hosted right now, as https://bllist.theblackparrot.me/ reports that there are several servers up. If I start Steam in Offline Mode, start up Blockland, and look at the server browser, those servers also show up, too.

Suggestions & Requests / Crouch Toggle
« on: December 19, 2016, 10:34:39 PM »
Could anyone make it so that crouching has to be toggled? I know I could just simply do crouch(1); in the console, but that isn't as convenient. Especially when some guy is spraying bullets everywhere and I'll die by the time I finally type that in. Even if I type in crouch(1); beforehand, open the console, press the up arrow, and then hit enter, it's still not as fast as just simply hitting SHIFT.

Suggestions & Requests / A version of Tier Tactical without raycasts
« on: December 10, 2016, 11:22:50 AM »
Could anyone modify all the Tier Tactical guns (Skins included) that are raycasting (Pistols, sniper rifles, etc) to fire projectiles instead? Thinking of making a Hotline Miami-ish server, but raycasts are impossible to dodge at longer ranges, unlike actual projectiles.

Forum Games / The Deal: Revisited [History Repeats Itself]

> WHAT THE forget IS GOING ON LETS HAVE A RECAP

Warning: The following recap may be missing details or accuracy. This is all based off of what I can remember, since nobody has the time to go through thirty-plus pages and write all this stuff down.

First Mission: John McClass delivers a briefcase to the Mafia and everything is somewhat-serious and realistic. No fun allowed, and the writing attempts to be sarcastic and intentionally misinterprets stuff. A SWAT Team forgets up the entire job, and John McClass makes an enemy of Uncle Jay (no relation), a notorious entrepreneur .

Second Mission: John McClass delivers stuff to the Roboloveual Wrangler, a place for people to have love with robots. Things start getting less serious and more fun. A grandfather starts getting mentioned, and he gradually becomes more important as the thread goes on. Gloria the Glorious, a love robot, starts a lovebot revolution, and pretty much all of John McClass's nameless coworkers are killed off. John McClass makes friends with some people and they become companions.

Intermission: John McClass escapes the lovebot revolution with his companions. He runs into a young man named Jimmy, who joins him. Jimmy takes McClass to meet an old friend, who is revealed to be Uncle Jay. A massive shootout ensues, and Uncle Jay is blown into several tiny pieces.

Third Mission: John McClass delivers letters to a bunch of grannies at the retirement home. Nothing happens for a really loving long time, his grandfather suddenly becomes even more relevant, McClass teaches himself how to do the Cycle™, a really loving disgusting process, some more boring bullstuff happens, and then John McClass finally has some action when clones of his grandfather pop out of nowhere and start shooting at him. McClass kills the clones and flies to the Alps to make another delivery... And also search for his grandfather, too.

Fourth and Current Mission: The thread takes a nosedive into batstuff insanity and abandons the tone it had at the beginning. John McClass finds a massive village on the alps, tries to locate both his grandfather and the village leader, gets into a barfight, runs into a cybernetics lab and gets captured. It is then revealed that Benito Blue Meanie is still alive and kicking, and Blue Meanie is the village leader. McClass's grandfather is also apparently being held prisoner too. John McClass breaks out of his containment cell, slaughters several Italian Fascists, searches for his grandfather, and finds an augmentation machine. He becomes a cyborg, gains a literal split personality from getting shot in the head somehow, and is captured.

You stand in front of a large, oppressive warehouse in the really stuffty part of town. This warehouse is two stories tall, seems to have a weird smell, and has a general air of hostility. You think you can hear a power drill and someone screaming in agony inside the warehouse. The warehouse is noticeably swarming with heavily armed mobsters. It is also sunset, and the sky is all orange and pretty.

> WHAT IS THIS

Oh, how silly of me to not introduce you properly. Welcome to The Deal: Revisited. You're John McClass, a member of the International League of Couriers. You will deliver things like packages, drugs, nuclear warheads, and letters for Grandma to various kinds of people, regardless of rain, snow, bullets, atomic annihilation, pesky things such as "ethics" and "laws", and so on. Today's job is to deliver a briefcase full of drugs to the Mafia. Your orders should be simple enough. Walk in, don't piss anyone off, deliver the drugs, get the money, and walk out. That easy enough? Let's do this. Please type "START" to start this properly.

> "START"

Not with the quotes, you dingus khan.

> START

To the north is the two story warehouse, where your objective is to deliver the drugs. The warehouse seems to be ominously leaning over you as it blocks out the fading sunlight. In front of the warehouse are two mobsters with kevlar-reinforced suits and ties, both of them packing a lot of heat.

To the south is a street with the occasional car passing by. This being a really stuffty part of town, nobody wants to stick around too long unless they're the cops, and even then they only stick around if they bring in the SWAT Team. You see an alleyway with some strange markings, and a conspicuous pile of rubble with a bunch of neon pink glow sticks around it, which seem to be illuminating a vague shape. You think that the vague shape could be a gun someone left around for some reason. A bunch of abandoned buildings are next to the alleyway.

To the west is the decent part of town, where the criminals aren't as heavily armed, only carrying rifles and submachine guns instead of machineguns and rocket launchers. Further to the west is the wealthy part of town, where the criminals barely even exist. As for what is to the west that is nearby, you see a sidewalk and some more abandoned buildings. There are also a bunch of mutilated bodies hanging from the street lights, most of which are broken.

To the east is another part of the really stuffty part of town that you're in. Further to the east is an abandoned construction site, and the ocean itself. You also see a foreigner wearing an American flag t-shirt hanging around a nearby alleyway, trying to call a taxicab so he can get out of this wretched hive of a city. He is wearing an oversized backpack stuffed to the point where he can't even close it, and you see several dollar bills falling out of it.

Directly above you is a plane passing by, probably carrying a bunch of people flying to a better city than this one.

Directly below you is the sidewalk you're standing on, and your two feet. There could also be mole people or something underground, but you can't see through the sidewalk.

A Mobster guarding the door shouts out: "Hey! Are you comin' in here or what? You're the guy delivering the drugs to us, right? Better get to it! Careful not to piss off the Don, though. He just finished skinning Gary alive for talking back to him during a meeting. He should be hanging from one of those street lights if you look hard enough. Poor bastard."

Time to get this party started. Please input another command.

> _

You are carrying a briefcase full of drugs, a smartphone, a wallet, several paper clips, pepper spray, and a metal spoon.

You are wearing regular civilian clothes that make you look like an average guy. Except for the bowler hat, though. Not too many civilians in this area wear bowler hats.

You are not injured, and perfectly fine.

Off Topic / Recommend me a good ergonomic keyboard?
« on: August 05, 2016, 08:50:19 PM »
I tend to use the left SHIFT and CTRL keys a lot whenever I'm on the keyboard(Because that's usually for sprinting/crouching/etc), and one unfortunate side effect that I'm starting to notice is pain in my left pinky if I use SHIFT/CTRL for an extended amount of time. Anyone know a good ergonomic keyboard?

Anyone know what the required addons are for Yoke's Shipment build? The Dropbox link is dead for what addons are required(Couldn't he just tell us right there in the forum post instead of making us download a text file?). No point in PMing Yoke if he hasn't been active since March.

So I've been loving around in SFM with the SFM Blockheads and I've had something like this so far before stuff started breaking, which was colored with Doc's Color Script

For some reason recently the colors haven't been saving properly for some reason, resulting in most of it turning white once I load the session again. Only random parts of the Blockheads actually seem to have the color saved.

Any reason why Doc's color script doesn't save the colors properly? I've already tried leaving a comment on the workshop page for Doc's color script AND I've already tried the "General Problems and Issues" discussion on the workshop page too, but Doc has been dead on Steam for almost a full month. Is there also any way to color the Blockheads WITHOUT Doc's broken script?

Calling it now: April Fools Day is a trap designed to lure in stuffposters so Badspot can weed them out.

After 66 pages and about five months, MindHive has finished. We are now planning for a re-do of Quest to save Kompressor, and the Google Doc for it is
here. Planning in the thread itself starts Here.

For some reason on Kong123's Deathrace, I keep timing out after the round ends. Almost every single time. Not sure if it's Slayer or the server itself, but I do have a console.log attached.

15
Let's say you're playing on some server that involves vehicles. You and your teammates pack into a plane, helicopter, etc. All the seats are full, so you can't swap with anyone else without ejecting yourself, which might slow your team down, or be a suicidal move. What would the solution to this be?

A addon that lets you swap vehicles with someone else. Trying to swap to a seat already occupied by another player will pop up a chat message saying that Player X wants to swap with him. All Player Y has to do is press the key to swap to whatever seat Player X was previously in(ex. If Player X presses Next Vehicle Seat and requests to swap, player Y presses the key for Previous Vehicle Seat to complete the swap), and both players will swap without having to jump out of a plane in mid-air and die. Possible RTB Prefs would be a setting for how long the delay is before people can request swapping seats, to prevent spam.

Would this be possible?
