Off Topic / Badspot should stop tolerating all this Religion war.
« on: December 07, 2010, 04:31:43 PM »
Seriously we have two topics going on about bickering over what you believe, KEEP THAT stuff TO YOURSELF.
Why do Badspot and Ephi let people pull this stuff every now and then, it's as bad as furry topics.

THIS IS NOT A TOPIC TO RANT ON ABOUT HOW THE BEARDED GUY/FAT ASIAN/MUSLIM WHATSHISFACE OR FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER YOU BELIEVE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER ONES OUT THERE.

/discuss people trying to make their religion other people's business.

Games / Poker Night at the Inventory Megathread

Poker Night at the Inventory
Telltale Games

Ever wonder what video game characters do in their spare time? Telltale games has done that exact thing, throwing 4 video game characters together to play a nice game of Poker.

CHARACTERS

Heavy Weapons Guy

Quote from: TF2 Wiki
A towering hulk of a man hailing from the USSR, the Heavy, also known as Heavy Weapons Guy, is the largest, and possibly the most dangerous class in Team Fortress 2; boasting the highest stamina and the biggest gun, as well as the slowest speed. His firepower is highly impressive, allowing him to mow down opponents in seconds. However, revving up and firing his Minigun brings his already-unimpressive speed to a snail's pace, making him an open (and very large) target for any enemy outside his range of fire. Though large and imposing, this makes the Heavy somewhat vulnerable , but with a Medic at his back and a well coordinated team flanking him, he can become an unstoppable entity of destruction. The Heavy can even benefit his team by dropping plates of Sandviches, which give his teammates a delicious and much-appreciated health boost.
The Heavy is arguably the 'face' of Team Fortress 2, appearing the most prominently in box-art and promotional materials as well as starring in the very first Meet the Team video and all following ones to date. In addition, he appears in Poker Night at the Inventory as the Team Fortress 2 representative.

Strongbad

Quote from: Wikipedia
Strong Bad is one of the major characters of the Homestar Runner series of animated Flash web cartoons. He is portrayed by Matt Chapman, the principal voice actor and co-founder of the series. Strong Bad enjoys pranking the other characters of the series, along with his ever-diligent lackey pet named "The Cheat" and his older brother Strong Mad.[1] The main segment that Strong Bad is a part of is "Strong Bad Email", in which he answers emails sent to him by fans.[2] The Strong Bad Email series grew to be so popular that seven DVDs featuring the emails have been released, as well as a podcast where emails could be downloaded to digital media players, since its first episode in 2001.

Max

Quote from: Sam and Max Wiki
Violent, impulsive and indulgent in the extreme, Max is the source of much of the franchise's unique humor. Max is an active member of the Freelance Police along with his long time partner and friend Sam.
He often refers to himself as a lagomorph, though he also sometimes refers to himself as a rabbit. A rabbit is a type of lagomorph, so these are not mutually exclusive. He enjoys violence and prefers to solve problems aggressively. He has a slight distaste for the long stories, anecdotes, and sentences that Sam constantly spouts forth, often asking Sam and others not to use various words such as 'ensue' and 'acumen'. He shares Sam's enthusiasm in just about anything, especially if it involves large guns and trouble. He also has very poor hygiene, as he sometimes tastes his own belly button lint, and once had a large "suspicious growth" behind his ear. Sam has commented on his pungent bodily odors on more than one occasion. Both Sam and Max have also commented on the obscure fact that Max has a metal plate in his skull. He is apparently ambidextrous as he is shown in the comics holding weapons with his right hand in some occasions while using his left in others. Max always Gobbles things up. in Bright Side of the Moon Max Gobbles a Glass containing a Bent Spoon

Tycho

Quote from: Wikipedia
Jerry Holkins' comic alter ego (named after the astronomer Tycho Brahe) is bitter and sarcastic. His eyes are burnt sienna, and he's almost invariably clad in a blue-striped sweater. Tycho enjoys books, RPGs, using large and uncommon words in conversation, and deflating Gabe's ego. He is a rabid fan of Harry Potter. He also plays Dungeons & Dragons often (the website's previous banner illustrates him holding a 20-sided die), and adopts a wildly theatrical style when acting as a dungeon master. He occasionally makes reference to his scarring childhood, during which his mother physically abused him[27] and blamed him for the family's abandonment by his father due to his body, "swelling with evil"[28] (in fact, his puberty). It has been mentioned that one of his aunts, believing him to be gay, regularly sends him homo-erotic material.[29] Tycho also has a drinking problem.[30] In one strip, after a dream, Tycho is shown to be host to an evil spirit, the presence of which is indicated by his eyes glowing with red light;[31] this theme is repeated over the course of the strip. Some strips appear to indicate that he has an unhealthy loveual obsession with long-necked animals such as giraffes[32] and ostriches

Off Topic / So I finally got a new monitor.
« on: October 09, 2010, 05:34:32 AM »
For anyone who noticed I was away for about a week or so, it was because my monitor broke and I never got around to getting a new one until last night.

Popping back in to say hi, did I miss anything interesting?

Games / Thinking of selling games at EB Games for Halo: Reach
« on: September 21, 2010, 08:03:58 PM »
BEFORE YOU GIVE ME THE "LOL USE EBAY" stuff, I'M NOT CONCERNED RIGHT NOW

So yeah, I'm broke and I have some old games I want to try and sell to get enough money for Halo Reach.
They have a deal right now where every game traded in towards it gets you an extra 25% on it's value which isn't bad either.

Here's a list of games I've considered selling, I might add to the list if I find any other games to sell.

Guarantee Selling List
Left 4 Dead 2
Assassin's Creed 2
Tales of Vesperia (seriously I never even played that stuff)
Fallout 3

Maybe Selling List
Red Dead Redemption (I know it's a great game but I'm tight on cash)
Banjo Kazooie, Nuts and Bolts (shame I never beat it)

My question is, would I get much for selling any of these?

Off Topic / So yeah, Steam keeps crashing.
« on: September 11, 2010, 09:24:41 PM »
It just happened twice in a row, and I'm sure I'm not the only one since it happened to Shafin and TomTheGeek as well.

Anyone else getting this/know why?

Creativity / Pixelized Blockheads! Taking Requests!
« on: August 26, 2010, 06:53:17 AM »
WHAT AM I READING?
That's right, Proog is now taking requests for pixelated blockheads!
Due to completed boredom and overload on free time, I remembered some of the old blockhead sprites people made.
But I didn't like them, so I made my own.

This is the little guy, but he's currently twice his size with a cool outline.

WHERE CAN I GET ONE?
I'll be making them, and maybe keeping a log of all the complete ones on the home page.

GOLLY GEE, WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
All you have to do is post an application, and you're set! When I finish making it, I'll post it here so everyone can see it! Then you can play around with it for whatever you will use it for. And sorry, I'm too lazy to make every one of them transparent.

To request a character, just post what he looks like in this format!

And that's all you need to do!

CURRENTLY DONE: OPEN THEM IN A NEW TAB
Default Blockhead
Astronaut
Blockoman
King of losers
Crazy Salt
TwenteFreak
GeneralSkar
Sabbin
TMAN6767

Request away!

Off Topic / Google Chrome signs me out every time I close the browser
« on: August 18, 2010, 07:40:57 AM »
So yeah, since people here kept going on about how Google Chrome is better, I gave it a shot.
I have to agree, it feels faster and looks pretty nice.

But it has a problem remembering passwords, since half of them are the wrong password, even though I typed in the right one.

So I'm asking, does anyone else who use Google Chrome get signed out when they log off all the time?
And is there a way to stop it?

That and it keeps remembering the wrong BL password, I've tried reseting the password remembering thing.
Kept remembering the wrong password.

Games / TF2 Highlander Community Challenge: Vote on the new poll
« on: August 11, 2010, 07:00:40 AM »
I think Blockland should try and throw a rag tag team together to enter.
Here is the most recent blog article about it
Hurr Blog Post

This topic is to discuss and possibly form a team, let's make some silly application form.
Teams require 10-14 people in it.

Name: Forum name
Steam ID: Steam account
Class: Choose the class you want to be

For anyone who doesn't know, Highlander is a custom gamemode where there's only one of each class per team.

In short, it'll be this.

It's a Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demo, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper and Spy, VS another team like that.

VIRTUAL MEDALS, DID I MENTION THAT?
That's right folks! Everyone who enters the contest will get a badge, the first place team, second place team, third place team, and all the other guys who just participated in the fun.
Well let's try getting a team now, here's the list of possible participants and what class they might be.

Scout: Chefkokkie
Soldier: Beamsword
Pyro: Masterlegodude
Demoman: Proogles
Heavy: NickTheSushi
Engineer: Dippindots
Medic: Aphtonites
Sniper: Canto xe
Spy: Naturemon

Extras: Daenth, Dr.Block, Shafin, Oromis, snot

I personally might be Scout or Demoman since those are pretty much my two best classes.

Add-Ons / Small Vehicle Spawn Set (Made by HellsHero)
« on: August 09, 2010, 04:07:08 PM »
I've decided to upload this because I've always found them very useful.
This contains a 4x4 Vehicle spawn brick and a 2x2 Vehicle spawn brick.

No pictures are provided or needed because it is pretty self explanatory what they look like.

NOTE: These are not the ones that make the vehicle smaller, they are just smaller spawn bricks

Download link here: Small Vehicle Spawn Set

If HellsHero happens to realize I didn't ask for his permission, I give him full credit, taking none for myself. I only uploaded these because they are quite useful and should be given out to more people.

Off Topic / What Nationality are you?
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:16:05 AM »
Just throwing that question out there, what Nationality are you guys?
Like, what country were you born in.

I was born in Ireland, though I live in Canada :U

Also yes I know there will be a big gap because of other, but it's because I'm too lazy to list anything besides the big ones.

Games / Chimera Hunt Mega Thread - Garry's Mod Gamemode
« on: July 28, 2010, 11:07:28 AM »

Quote
A round based gamemode based off of the Chimera Lab section of the GBA game MOTHER 3. Every round a random player is chosen to be the Ultimate Chimera, a big pink monster who wants nothing more than to kill everything in its path. The Pigmasks (soldiers in pig outfits) are there to put a stop to him. To do this, they must turn him off by pressing the big white button on his back. Getting close enough to do that however, is not an easy task.

The Ultimate Chimera can roar when surrounded by too many pigmasks, it causes them all to flee in terror giving him ample time to track a few down.

This gamemode has been completely rewritten and is now on the Fretta base! Which means a faster pace, automatic map voting and compatibility with servers who want multiple gamemodes on their server.

Nintendo and Shigesato Itoi for creating MOTHER and giving it's fans 3 amazing games.

Epic Swarce Link

This is actually a very fun gamemode, and for any Mother 3 fans out there (inb4kapturith) you'll like it even more.

Discuss this lovey beast of a gamemode.
